"Why is God male?"
Because He is. That's like saying "why am I female?" or "why is my mother female?" or "why is my father male?"
"Does he have male genitalia?"
Of course He does.
"It seems silly for the creator of the universe to have a wang and yet not have a female"
That's because you are thinking of God in dirty, worldly, fleshy terms. God's Member does not conform to those debased forms of thought.

The return of GOD'S PENIS!
Uh, Navaros....Genesis says that humanity...both sexes...was made in "God's Image". Therefore God is Mother as well as Father.
The Feminine principle/gender/sex & femininity had to come from somewhere, after all. BALANCE is an important thing after all.
Also, what Ace Atheist said. Why would a divine being have a penis if he can't use it?
Finally....
YHVH AND HIS ASHERAH - Inscription on a number of ancient artifacts from the Mid-East.
Asherah, as we all know, was a Goddess. She's also called Ashroreth, Ishtar & Inanna a few others.
Shekhina is another. Eeyup; The Power/Presence of the Biblical Deity is a FEMININE force?
Tell me, Navaros; What is it about female-anything that gives you cooties.
What is it with this guy and God's Penis? How fascinated, nay obsessed with the phallus of the almighty must he be? He speaks of it as though the mighty wang from on high transcends our limited understandings of genitalia, that such an almighty weiner can only be truly imagined by him.
Surely his worship of the GodRod knows no bounds. Many a feverish hour is spent by him fixated in awe on the divine dong, the holiest of doomhammers.
Someday, Navaros hopes to ascend for his service to the great cock in the sky.
Me? I'll stick with a genderless Creator, thanks. Plenty of "dirty, worldly, fleshy" manparts (and womanparts) among mortals to choose from. Don't have a need for dick from the heavens.
God is both male and female; see Genesis 1:26-27, where god created both males and females in God's image.
Hebrew has no neutral gender, and as a coseqeunce although the word the Torah uses for god ('elohim') is a masculine form it doesn't indicate god is male--at least not to any greater extent that the fact that the hebrew word for table takes a masculine form indicates tables are male.
"God's Member does not conform to those debased forms of thought."
Then why even think he has a penis?
Some people have a sack of shit for brains I swear...
How can a unique, timeless, trancendental, omnipotent being have a sex? Even siring Jesus cannot be used as proof of God being male, since a central tenet of Christianity is that Jesus was not conceived by sexual intercourse, but magically - had It chosen so, Yahweh could have certainly have made Joseph pregnant (which would actually have been a much more remarkable miracle than an unmarried pregnant woman claiming that she was still a virgin) or just have him waved into existance.
I remember that I once read that in some Jewish psalms or liturgy, there are passages (usually about God's nurturing aspects) where God is refered to with feminine forms, although I do not know how accurate the claims are.
Why does it always come back to his dick with these people? And why would a perfect being with no female equivalents possess an organ which exists soley for the purposes of expelling unusable, toxic material from the body and producing offspring? They've ruled out reproduction so the only remaining option is that he's an all-powerful, perfect being that produces toxins as a byproduct of im perfect biology.
All I see is in this quote is, "My god's weenie is bigger than your god's weenie, but you're the gross one for thinking about the practical side. God's boner is an awesome boner, so I win!"
If I ever were to have a belief in god, it would have to be a pantheon. I can't accept one deity doing EVERYTHING. I guess I read too much mythology and played too much D&D as a wee horror.
Yahweh is too much like Superman; he can inexplicably do anything/everything and he has a weird obscure weakness that makes no sense (iron chariots or a hunk of exploded home plant, respectively).
@Azereaux
Hindus worship a phallic representation of Shiva, the masculine aspect of Deity, as the Shivalinga....

....but it sits within a Yoni, the representation of Shakti, the feminine aspect of Deity.
At least Hindus see Deity as "complete", unlike guys like Bizzaros or D.J. Stupid. Guys like them are....special.
(Please don't take the 'complete' comment as homophobia. I didn't mean 'complete' in that way. I hope you can get the nuance of what I meant)
"ALL GODS ARE ONE GOD
ALL GODDESSES ARE ONE GODDESS
TOGETHER, THEY ARE ONE!"
@SpukiKitty
Hmm... That is certainly a way to look at it. Will have to add that to my list of things to ponder (and research, when I have time). Those of us that believe in a higher power of some sort (and some number) come to see the Creator in such interesting myriad ways. It is rather fascinating.
I appreciate the cultural enlightenment. For the moment, I will continue to hold my view, but thank you (and for inspiring me to do a bit of research on this Demiurge I hear oft referenced. The path to greater understanding is strange indeed...).
I do definitely still stand by my position of not having the need for the High Holy Unit of God like Navaros, though. Mortal members are sufficient.
A penis and testicles are biological organs specifically intended for use by certain living organisms in reproduction. Nothing dirty about it, anymore than eating is.
Is God a living biological organism that needs to be able to reproduce? Because that's the only way He'd need a set.
Why is your 'God' female , Navvy?
Because he no longer has a 'Holy Righteous Penis '.
There's the fundies' bigotry against trans people rendered equally nutless. >:D
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
