Your partner, ex? Your father? ...

Psychopaths aren't "another species," they're just humans with a serious mental illness. I think the word you needed here was *sociopaths,* not psychopaths. Now, I would have no problem believing that many people in power today are sociopaths. *Especially* politicians and Wall Street.

Hey all, just wanted to tell you that the statement "Psychopaths can explain almost every freaking conspiracy out there and why they are possible" does NOT criticize actual conspiracy theorists.
I submitted this, so I know that he most definitely IS blaming all conspiracies on "Psychopaths", which he also claims are literally a DIFFERENT SPECIES that have different brains and physiology. Also they apparently have no need for sleep or consciousness(!?) or sexuality, and just use sexuality to be manipulative as it serves their purposes.
I would have included this, but it was buried in a vast pile of bullshit that was necessary for context but was too long to include.

i think he read the excellent Blindsight by peter watts and decided it was nonfiction. as it both had vampires, and spaceships in it, this is an impressive dedication to batshittery
was a good book - if you like bleak hard science fiction. the man even put in references and made up a scientificly plausible reasons for vampires to actually exist.
It's CTSTDT because it's assuming a conspiracy of psychopaths in every conspiracy.
You can tweak it to make it rational: ie "psychopaths are disproportionately CEOs and that can explain the unethical behavior of their respective companies" or "what appears to be conspiracies can be better explained by psychopaths or others acting independently serving their own best interest"
But as stated it's a conspiracy theory. Glad we all saw that John Stewart interview. (and they say daily show isn't news...)

I...I actually find myself kindly disposed to this.
Not because it's correct--it's not, since psychopaths are perfectly self-aware, fully-conscious humans--but because completely psychopathic people often seem to have thought processes that are utterly alien to those who are even remotely normal. And it turns out that a total lack of a functioning conscience coupled with the an utter lack of normal human empathy can actually be something of an advantage in certain areas of life when combined with high intelligence, like in pretty much every last government in history, ever. Or in the business world. Oliver Stone had plenty of real-life examples on whom to base Gordon Gekko. And in every last crisis, in every disaster ever, no matter what it is or what caused it, there's going to be at least a few soulless psychopathic cocksuckers right there at the center of it all doing their dead-level best to profit off it in some way, fucking over everyone around them, and trying to amplify it, to crank the misery up to eleven and then break off the knob, just so that whatever it is turns out as horribly as possible for every last remaining one of us...sometimes because that's the path to wealth and power they've chosen, but sometimes just because they can. Arms dealers are a case in point. And that's not even counting the disasters that people themselves engineered for personal gain.

Well, the thing is, you don't need to be a psychopath or a sociopath to act like one.
You know the old saying, "When fighting monsters take care not to become one yourself?"
Trite words, I know, but it serves to show that a lack of empathy can be learned.
After all, if you spend so much time thinking that your enemy is a monster, it's only natural that you're going to lose empathy for them.
