Representative Dan Lundgren (R-CA), the former Attorney General, had one of the best lines I've heard in the House, even though John Conyers silenced him.
Mr. Lundgren opposed HR 1592, the "hate crimes" bill, which gives homosexuals special protection and punishes Christians, and came to the point of calling it by its real intent:
"The (North American Man-Boy Love Association) Protection Act."
Protecting criminals and pedophiles, while punishing Christians. Our state's schools, thanks to the idiots in the student pile, endorse pedophiles working in our schools, but Christians are to be banned. Go figure.

Haha, the NAMBLA Protection Act! Cuz it has nothing to do with NAMBLA, but we like to link gays and pedophiles, whether true or not, to invoke boogeymen. Fantastic!

Christians always feels so fucking put upon, so persecuted, as they love to say, but seriously, once the Christians got a toehold, they honed the persecution thing to a very sharp edge indeed.
Wouldn't it be interesting to see a Christian fundie beaten to a pulp for his beliefs, and his attackers sent to prison for a long time under the letter of this law? Might make for a bit of irony.

Let's see: homosexuals make up less than 1% of the child molesters in the US. Therefore, all homosexuals are child molesters.
How does this bill "punnish" Christians? It would be unconstitutional to pass a bill that specifically calls for the persecution of an entire group of people based on their religion.
Most of the acts covered by this bill already fall under the legal definition of terrorism -- yet are mostly not prosecuted as such when they're committed by conservative white Christians. Now that this bill has passed, less-severe penalties for terrorism directed against ethnic or sexual minority groups have been written into law. And that's still not good enough for Lundgren et al .
I swear, if I see one more, ONE MORE schmuck associate homosexuality to pedophilia, I'm gonna go postal.
