One of the most popular false gods of the world is Santa Claus. Children around the world worship Santa Claus. Do you know what the word "worship" means? It simply means: "The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object." Hence, many parents are indeed teaching their children to worship Santa.
Children's minds are consumed with this fictitious fat slob dressed in red. Children should not be led to believe in a fictitious character who can read people's minds, is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. To deliver presents to every child in one night is something ONLY an omnipotent God could do.
Don't you see what the Devil is doing to little children? As the child grows older and realizes that there is NO Santa, he is already CONDITIONED to become an atheist as well.

...Guys help my irony meter is going to bloww and it'll take out the whole solar system
As the child grows older and realizes that there is NO Santa, he is already CONDITIONED to become an atheist as well.
He stops believing in the Imaginary Big Four: Santa, God, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.
The fact Santa is based on a christian saint simply eludes DJS.
As for worship, do children worship their parents? I do not think so. Or, well, I hope not. Worship means that you debase yourself, that you consider yourself beneath the object of worship. Which is why I have less of a problem with the old Norse gods, which did not require worship, so much as a conscious alliance.
The christian god was cooked up by priests to debase and humiliate the believers. It is one belief worth destroying.

Is he just completely lacking in self awareness? It's like the opposite of Skynet over here.
While I rarely pay attention to Dave Stewart's inane yammerings, what he said here is partially true. Pastor David J. Meyer wrote quite a bit about the demon "Santa Clause" and the consequences that the pagan rituals of "Christmas" imposed on our society.

First off, everybody knows Santa uses time zones to do his rounds in one night, along with the International Date Line. Secondly, if teaching kids about Santa will make them be atheists, then I shall tell every child I know about Santa Claus.
"Children around the world worship Santa Claus."
Jealous? That children love him but not you, David J. Pedophile?
"Children should not be led to believe in a fictitious character who can read people's minds, is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent."
The irony!! It burns like a thousand supernovas!!
"Don't you see what the Devil is doing to little children?"
It can hardly be worse that what you want to do to them...

...Are we 100% sure Jerry isn't some kind of troll?
@Satanist Jerry
So why do Biblical Christians like you celebrate the Pagan Winter Solstice festival then?
Oliver Cromwell banned Christmas. He was a Protestant . Will you be enjoying at & around Dec. 25th mince pies? They were a symbol of Catholicism during Cromwell's time, so as you've admitted you're not a Protestant (but still use that authorised by the Protestant Queen James I) who will be going to a Catholic Church on De. 25th and celebrate Mass, you should be okay then. [/Doug Piramnha-levels of sarcasm]
...besides, Professors of Theology will tell you that if your 'Jesus' actually existed, he was born in September , so you & your precious Pasty Oscar Meyer got it completely wrong (as per usual), and the Christian church stole the pagan Winter Solstice festival and 'Christianised' it. Also, 'Santa Claus' as you know him today was actually the creation of graphic artist Haddon Sundblom, for Coca Cola's 1931 Xmas advertising campaign, using their corporate colours of red & white (when previously he'd been portrayed in yellow & white or green & white). The rest is history.
As is your argument, Jer. >:D
"You must think Santa Clause weird
He has long hair and a beard
Giving his presents for free
Why do police guys mess with peace guys?
Let's get Santa Clause 'cause;
Santa Clause has a red suit
He's a communist
And a beard, and long hair
Must be a pacifist
What's in the pipe that he's smoking?
Mister Clause sneaks in your home at night.
He must be a dope fiend, to put you up tight
Why do police guys beat on peace guys?"

re: the Christians stealing the winter solstice pagan holiday ...
Christians are deft and accomplished, and frequent thieves; they also stole Easter from another pagan holiday, the Noah fairy tale from the Epic of Gilgamesh, to name just a couple more instances.
a fictitious character who can read people's minds, is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.
Uh oh, somebody's not going to be getting any Christmas presents this year. ;-)
Btw, if Santa were omnipotent, he wouldn't need a sleigh and 12 reindeer, not to mention a red nosed Rudolph to guide said sleigh through the fog.
So Brother Dave: you better watch out, you better not ...
@Demon Duck Of Doom
No, he uses that magic dust!
"Little bit to the reindeer, little bit to Santa Claus, a little bit more for Santa Claus...."
Christians did not "steal" any pagan holidays. "Christmas" and "Easter" are Catholic holidays. Catholics are not Christian, and neither they nor their holidays have anything to do with real Christian practices.

You say that like it's a bad thing. :-)
@Catholic Jerry
...and Protestants continue with that theft as well.
Unless you're prepared to admit that the Professors of Theology were right, you're an accessory to theft from Wiccans & Neo-Pagans, Jer.

Stop fat-shaming Santa, God dammit!!

HOLY LACK OF SELF-AWARENESS, BATMAN!!!

I feel so bad for the Devil now. He's always getting blamed for all these fundies' delusions.
And ohh, how dare those kids outgrow the fairytales they were taught by their parents. What nerve![/snark]

We have zero evidence of the Devil existing, nevermind doing anything to little children. We're much more concerned about you doing things to little girls (again)

@ Jerry
Last I checked, all christians celebrate Easter as the time of death and supposed resurrection of Jesus.
Unless, of course, you do not subscribe to that, but then, are you really christian?
"Don't you see what the Devil is doing to little children? As the child grows older and realizes that there is NO Santa, he is already CONDITIONED to become an atheist as well."
What are YOU doing to little children?
I know something of false gods, David Stewart.
I have seen what they demand of their servants-our toil and blood, spilled for their amusement. They demand everything of their followers, and in return we receive...nothing. And you sound much as their priests did, endless exhortations to send more innocent lives into the abattoir for their glory.
Santa is nothing of the sort. In exchange for nothing save kindness and decency, he comes in the night to bring gifts and a measure of joy and contentment. His is a story of generosity and mercy. There are legends worth keeping and venerating. The story of your Santa is one of them, I think.
You, who worship only power and see worth only in blood and death, would find yourself at home with those to whom I once pledged myself, I think..if even they could stand you, that is.

It always cracks me up how the Christians co-opted the winter solstice and Easter. I mean, Easter is the name of the rabbit-headed pagan fertility goddess whose holiday you stole!
It's like Saint Bridget in Ireland. She's actually Brigid the War Goddess that the locals didn't want to stop worshiping. I'm a little surprised there isn't a Saint Morrigan too.
Things like this just are just more cracks in the facade. One day it'll be studied as myth like the others.
C'mon @Jerry
What are you and do you observe these holidays STOLEN FROM Pre-Christian Holidays. Most American Christians do and most you sorry mythers think those are Christian events AND Thanksgiving which is harvest festivals celebrated on nearly every continent, like the other two..
What are you and do you observe these holidays?
You only have a God on your side so come clean, what denomination are you and do you observe these pagan holidays?
So, it's like a person who is almost rock solid 100% not a poe, is saying something that screams "obvious poe". But a poe is just a fake that seems like the real thing because the real thing is just that ridiculous. Its like the whole phenomena has gone full circle or some trippy shit like that...
I think I have to lie down, now.
I've always thought of Santa as a sort of practice run for Christianity, at least with parents who practice the 'do good and you get rewarded, do bad and he'll make you eat coal/beat you/kill your pets" variety.
" Children should not be led to believe in a fictitious character who can read people's minds, is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. To deliver presents to every child in one night is something ONLY an omnipotent God could do. "
- and the second you give any evidence that your deity is any more real than santa claus your babbling may have any merit.
Confused?
