Why don't christians understand their god did not help them repel laws such as same-sex marriage, because their god either does not give a crap about it or does not exist?
And I really, really want a Lindisfarne reenactment in the church of that arsehole, just to see if his dear god protects him from an axe to the skull.
Because Atheists don't believe in God, therefore the only people who could help the Jews during the Holocaust were those who stood against the Nazis, and even then...
On that note, God doesn't seem to be helping Christians stop same sex marriage. Nor does He seem to be able to stop secularisation.

Why don't atheists understand that someone in whose supernatural powers we don't believe supposedly didn't use those supposed supernatural powers because of something that supposedly happened to him two millennia before? First off, every man is to be punished for THEIR OWN SIN. A father committing murder doesn't mean his children get convicted of murder! This was in the OLD TESTAMENT as a rule, and established by Jesus when he restored a blind man's sight (his disciples asked if it was for his parent's sin that he was born blind. He said no.) If a child can't be punished for a father's sin, than neither can their children, or their children's children, as far as you wish to go.
Second, as everyone else here pointed out, all the Jews did was hand him in to the Romans. They proceeded to crucify Jesus. Many of the Jews even wept on the day of his crucifixion. So only a small group of Jews could be held responsible for handing him over, and none of them physically assisted in nailing him onto the cross, or flogging him, or making him carry that cross.

So he waited 2,000 years and then punished their 70x great-grandchildren? I know the Bible says "I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me" (Deut. 5:9), but visiting the iniquity of the fathers unto the 70th generation is a bit ridiculous, especially after leaving the intervening children alone for two millennia. I mean, justice delayed is justice denied, no?

Except for Original Sin. Even non-Catholic Christians claim that since Adam & Eve disobeyed God, all humans are destined for Hell unless they accept Jesus as personal Lord and savior.
Question: Can those born in Germany & Japan after 1945 be held responsible for the crimes of their previous regimes in WWII?
Because if your answer is the only one possible, then expect your seizure and subjected to a trial in a Crimes Against Humanity court for all those civilians murdered by George Dumbya Bush.
