(Da huh?)
["I am attacking God, all gods, anything and everything supernatural, wherever and whenever they have been or will be invented," declares Dr. Dawkins]
It's simply amazing to see the bizarre extremist antics to which atheists are driven by masturbation anxiety.
No NORMAL person spends that much time worrying about people reading the Bible.

FIXED!
*breathe* All too easy. *breathe*
Dawkins has spearheaded the cause to keep religion out of schools and meddling with science. Someone has to point out how far this stupidity has been getting in America. Lying Christian groups have been trying to enforce their religion and hatred of science.
When Dawkins is interviewed it's obvious that Europe haven't got this problem and this American form of Christianity is dangerous because of its Racist, Sexist, Knowledge and freedom hating agendas.
I'm just going to ignore this one as I can't make a damned bit of sense out of it.
@Frank: Dawkins is what we call a secular fundie. Someone who tries to force his beliefs on others against their will and/or displays extremist views.
Alright, I think I have an interesting idea:
Why don't people who think Dawkins is a secular Fundie (don't get me wrong, he may very well be) start submitting quotes of his?
It'd be nice to see some secular Fundieism, and it'd also get regular people past this misconception that FSTDT is anti-religion. Sadly, it won't work on the Fundies themselves....
That said, how are WE the ones who have masturbation anxiety? We don't think it's evil....
Christopher Hotchens is even more arrogant and venomous (and he supports a war against islamic faith) but he still makes points that are worthy (he comes at it from a journalistic viewpoint, his command of actual history is always better than his opponents)
Dawkins has taken the hard line, you must have a position or you are not doing the job fully. I'm glad someone of his calibier is in the debate arena periodically.
Oh, and he tells people to read the Bible, really read it. Don't let people tell you what's in it, Read it.
I'd say Dawkins is an atheist fundie. But to HowlinglyMind-BendingAbsurdity, I say this: I do worry about what some who read the Bible do since some have killed and raped because of it. Others would adhere to each thing it says and much of it makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with people. Others don't bother me since they read it to be spiritual
/"Dawkins has become a bit of a fundie himself./"
How can disbelief in the supernatural be considered grounds for fundamentalism?
A fundamentalist is someone who strictly adheres to any set of basic ideas or principles. Atheism, in itself, is not a principle.
Would any of you consider yourselves fundamentalist for disbelieving in Santa Claus?
Very, very few people worry about anyone reading the Bible.
A great many people ARE worrying about politicians passing laws and setting social and economic policy based on their pastors' pet interpretation of the Bible.
There's a difference, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
