It's been my LIMITED experience that these people seem to think that liberal policies give rise to permissive societies. Where among other things sex seems to become a commodity and the pursuit of other vices like drugs (i.e. drugs other than tobbacco and liquors) and (possibly) gambling are tolerated if not encouraged.
It seems that part of a central theme to the "fundie" is that they are being persecuted by an intolerant aetheist magority, which believes a series of carefully(?) crafted lies designed to lead people away from truth and encourage narcissism, apathy toward other human beings, and a shirking of obligations to society and some kind of spiritual king. i.e., a scientist neither pays homage to G-d nor works with his time on Earth. In short, while perhaps a liberal is not seen as wrathful or envious, they are seen as definitely slothy, lusty, avaricious and gluttonous (liberals desire, and "steal" more than they produce), and finally scientists seem to think that they know more than a holy man (and by extension, G-d) and put themselves before G-d, which is the definition of pride. Ugh, sorry for rambling. Again, bear in mind that this is a sample from a handful of people I've casually interacted with. In the experience of anyone who posts after me, is this true?

With all due respect I'd have to disagree with almost all of that.
Conservatism is extremely selfish, it is about maintaining or promoting your own status or standing or wealth. Generally you need to either demonise the enemy, deny there is a problem altogether, or just not care about your fellow humans. Religion is narcissistic (or extremely tempting to those that are narcissistic) - God's chosen people. We're right, we're special, we're loved, we'll get eternal life, we're better than you - you're evil etc. Liberalism is about helping people, not conservatism. Fundies do not give a shit about the environment. They think either it's fine, or God will take care of it, or it's their right to exploit it, or the 2nd coming is at hand. Combine that with a woeful misunderstanding of science and how the world works. Liberalism does NOT have apathy towards fellow humans, see above. Liberalism is not carefully crafted lies and in fact your statement "a series of carefully crafted lies designed to lead people away from truth and encourage narcissism, apathy toward other human beings, and a shirking of obligations to society" sums up conservative dogma very nicely. It's all about feeling warm and fuzzy as you fuck over the underclass. ****** OK that said, from your post it's apparent you are female, late teens, (I don't know enough about the hundreds of American splinter religions to pin you down on that one, but it appears there's some Catholic dogma, but also some more modern quirks), from a moderately well to do family in a small town in NE America. (North East, not New England - although.) I'm actually impressed with the degree of qualification you used, and shades of grey, and the lack of regurgitated polemic rhetoric. Keep questioning. (oh and your 3rd paragraph was absurd)

Wow. And the guy who said the meek shall inherit the Earth is supposed to be on the side of pushy, mouthy, loud conservatives?
