[So you agree that atheism and objectivism are not related to buddhism?]
No, I agree they are entirely related to Buddhism. They are subcategories of Buddhism basically.

Well Buddhism is technically agnostic, although the historic Buddha did say it was like a person shot by an arrow who wanted to know the origins of the arrow and who made it etc. before being treated.
However, there are secular humanist Buddhist who basically adopt the philosophy without the supernatural trappings e.g. reincarnation, nirvana etc. while remaining thoroughly atheistic
Buddhism, as an offshoot of Hinduism has a very clear stance on Gods. They are. But they aren't ultimate, and they're not a goal. The goal is to escape from this false reality and the suffering it contains through enlightenment.
That's a sophomoric description at best, but that's all I know of it.
Anyway... Buddhism != atheism. However... I guess... There is agreement that deities should not be worshipped? And even then, that depends on which particular tradition of Buddhism you follow.
My Godness!!, never heard about Shiddarta and Marx AND THE FACT THAT BUDDISM EXIST LONG BEFORE CHRIST AND THE WORD ITSELF IS LIKE 1800 YEARS YOUNGER THAN THE LATTER. Buddism is rather NON THEISTIC,That is, the axis of the religion is not consacrated to a concrete divinity, but they do worship gods. BELIEVE ME.
noself: I was just discussing this with a Buddhist friend. Basically, trying to know god is like being shot with a poisoned arrow and trying to find out who shot it, how it was made and all other questions about the arrow (and the questions that arise from the answers) before being treated for the poison. That is why if a Buddhist is a deist or agnostic, they are fairly unconcerned with it as they feel they need to be healed from within first.
Milage may vary depending on the sect of Buddhism.
Well, while it's still a bucketload of fail, this is a lot closer than Atheist = Muslim.
The kicker is that the closeness is purely accidental, as I'm sure he knows nothing of both Buddhism OR Atheism.
Confused?
