First of all, it's a fact that Jesus died for your sins. In order to deny that, one would have to make up a new history that can't be documented by anyone in history.
But you cannot muster up faith by yourself. Only God can give you the faith to believe. So the first thing you need to do is ask God for faith. Then wait. It sounds like God is drawing you and Jesus promises that he who seeks will find. So every time you feel the desire, ask God for faith and He will give it to you. Sometimes God will wait until we come to the end of ourselves and have no more answers. Then we are completely open to hearing him. I'll pray for you too.

Wait a sec. First you say that History has documented that Jesus died for our sins, and now you say that it's a matter of faith?, which document or outside source says that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins?, make up your mind.
Only God can give you the faith to believe. In that case, God must have taken back His gift of faith. Therefore, by witnessing to me, you are rebelling against the will of the Almighty.

Well, of course it wouldn't be documented. Can you imagine anybody writing records of the day saying things like "yea, there is nobody in this town called Jesus who is the son of God"?
"First of all, it's a fact that Jesus died for your sins."
First of all, that is not a fact. I defy you to offer any credible proof that the biblical Jesus truly existed.
"In order to deny that, one would have to make up a new history that can't be documented by anyone in history."
No, it is the existence of the biblical Jesus which cannot be proven. That it is written in an ancient text, written by serveral unknown persons, added to and edited by unknown persons for nearly 2 thousand years, does not constitute credible proof.
"But you cannot muster up faith by yourself."
Sure you can.
"Only God can give you the faith to believe."
No, the faith comes from you. God is imaginary.
"So the first thing you need to do is ask God for faith."
No, the first thing one needs to do to for such faith is believe in a god.
"Then wait. It sounds like God is drawing you and Jesus promises that he who seeks will find."
Really. It does? I don't hear that. I think it's just more of your delusions.
"So every time you feel the desire, ask God for faith and He will give it to you."
God is imaginary. He does not give anything to anyone.
"Sometimes God will wait until we come to the end of ourselves and have no more answers."
The end of myself? Which end?
So you're saying, "When all else fails, try magic?"
"Then we are completely open to hearing him."
So, your idea is that your good and loving God won't help you until you are completely down and out? What a guy.
"I'll pray for you too."
Thanks, but no thanks.

As opposed to the old history that can't be documented by anyone in history? This is a good one for the "More Honest Than He Intended" award ...

What's wrong with the your original jesus history that can't be documented by anyone in history?
Its a fact .I dont think so
I think you got your myths and fact mix up a bit their fundie

You know Josepheus went to Jerusalem at the time Jesus was supposedly preaching. He mentioned how popular the name Jesus was at the time he was there. He tells us that the name Jesus literally means 'savior'. With all the random shit that man wrote down you would think he would have connected all those dots and mentioned The Jesus, right? Strangely enough, he didn't. I wonder why?
First of all, it's a fact that Jesus died for your sins. In order to deny that, one would have to make up a new history that can't be documented by anyone in history.
Right, like the "history" of jesus?
So to have faith in this story you claim as fact, I must pray to the god I'm trying to believe in to give me the strength to believe in him?
It's no wonder I have the urge to tear my own head off sometimes. This bizarre "logic" is trying to escape.
"First of all, it's a fact that Jesus died for your sins. In order to deny that, one would have to make up a new history that can't be documented by anyone in history.
There would be no need to create a new history. I would simply go into ancient myths about resurrected divinities, choose the bits that I like, put them together with some 'eyewitness accounts', and sprinkle in some miracles to pull in the gullible and VOILA! Instant 'real' magic guy complete with biography and a first-class pedigree. Oh, wait...
So, believe in God by asking Him (despite not believing in Him) to make you believe in Him (which, due to not believing in Him, you really shouldn't give a fuck about). Awesome. Sounds like faith needed to continue believing (in the face of dangerous facts) rather than faith to begin believing that is in question here.
Also: "Jesus died for your sins" is interpretation. "Jesus died" is the only part of that could be considered historical, and even that isn't too rock solid, considering the nature of the "historical" material that gives us our information about Jesus.
Jesus never existed.
Idiot.
