Thanks. You've only made me want to break out & watch that film again, with that theme tune by John Barry; with what was - at that time (1979) - the most extensive use of CGI in any film*: the wireframe model of approaching a singularity, then entering it's event horizon.

Any film featuring Anthony Perkins and Ernest Borgnine can't be bad, eh?

I'm surprised that "Interstellar" didn't do the same for me, so thanks for that.

*- Then just three years later: "Tron". Just goes to show how fast computers had advanced then; and considering how - even in 2009 - in "Transforners: Revenge of the Fallen", the rendering of the Decepticon Devastator was all too appropriate, re. it's name: it caused a computer at ILM to melt, such was it's complexity, it seems there's still some ways to go.
