...I so hope this is a poe. Because otherwise I so very, very, VERY badly want to strangle the OP right now...
Star Trek is something to be proud of, due to it's very progressive nature and idealistic faith in humanity's goodness and showing us that technological advancement brings us only good tings. Hell, they even showed (one of?) the first interracial kiss on television, and the positive portrayal of Uhura even caused Whoopie Godberg to become an actress.
And might I point out that Kirk at least was a Christian? And that Picard was offended when Q claimed he was god? And that since Capitalism doesn't exist anymore, most Federation humans do everything out of the goodness of their hearts and a desire to better themselves.
And what sodomy? Aside from one rather tame instance in DS9 (so I've heard, haven't watched the episode myself) there is no depiction of homosexuality in the canon story that I've heard of. Unless you're saying that interspecies love is somehow "sodomy", in which case you can just become an exiled celibate monk, as nobody's touching our Green Skinned Space Babes!
So, in short, Star Trek has had a much more positive influence on individuals and society as a whole than religion ever had. Star Trek tells us to look towards the positive future where eventually humanity can get over their vices. Religion keeps forcing us to live in the past and never change or improve ourselves.
So, OP, f*ck off. F*ck off and stay away! You're insulting and disrespecting a deceased man who was and is far better than you. Who had a greater positive influence upon the world than you or any other fundie has ever had. Throw yourself in a woodchipper, I don't care.
And I suppose that in the ST 'verse, a person like you is only good in being so backwards and primitive that it might dissuade the borg from assimilating any human out of fear of actually regressing.
(I wanted to end on a bit of a humorous note to distract from this very depressing excuse for a human being)
