Tristan Whitefield quoted a Einstein: "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty." Then Tristan said, "This makes more sense to me than your fiction book."
Albert Einstein was not an atheist. He hated it when atheists said that he was one of theirs. He flatly said, "I am not an atheist." However, he didn't like the fact that the God of the Bible said, "You shall not commit adultery" (see if you can figure why). So Einstein made up his own version of God—one with which he felt more comfortable. This is very common for sinful humanity. It's call "idolatry," and is a transgression of the First of the Ten Commandments: “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

Ray, when are going to get this right? There are no atheist popes. Hitch drank like a fish and was a dickwad about Iraq. Dawkins can be an asshole sometimes. That still does not mean there is a god. Indeed, every single person in this world could believe as you do, and there would still be no proof of God.
Wasn't Einstein Spinozian pantheist? And raised in secularized Jewish family, not Christian? Why do you feel you have to approppriate his intellect, much of which was devoted into explaining apparent age of Universe (ca. 15Gy), all the while denying most of scientific thought in favour of a bronze-age creation myth?
Tristan Whitefield quoted a Einstein:
How hennas of him!
Albert Einstein was not an atheist.
Read what Tristan said again, Ray. There was no mention of atheism. Is it the voices in your head again, making you answer questions no-one asked?
Ray Comfort was a theist. He hated it when theists said that he was not one of theirs. He flatly said, "I am a theist."
However, he didn't like the fact that the Ten Commandments of the God of the Bible doesn't include, "You shall not have same-gender sex" or "You shall not believe in evolution" (see if you can figure out why.) So Comfort made up his own version of Godone with which he felt more comfortable.
This is very common for sinful humanity. It's called "idolatry," and is a transgression of the First of the Biblical Ten Commandments: "You shall have no other gods before Me."
That's total bullshit. Einstein had no use for religious scripture of any kind outside of it's literary historical value, of which he still didn't care for personally.
He didn't "make up his own God" He, like many of the great in history and founders of your country, dismissed the holy books as fiction. They never wholly dismissed that there could be a superior being (or many, why not) but they did completely dismiss the claims of any religion as dogmatic myth.
Also back in the day, being called Atheist was a bad as being called Witch or devil worshipper. Samuel Clements and Edison were the only two that straight out embraced the title I can think of, but having no connection to any church or professed adherence to any religious tome is Atheist to you Ray.
That does Einstein not being an atheist have to do with the comment Ray? The person making the comment did not claim Einstein was an atheist. All you are doing is avoiding the issue.
Ray I believe that you have made up your own God as well and He's not the God of the bible. You like the worst Idolaters just claim he is. Prove me wrong.
Sure, it's very common for sinful humanity to do that; just check what "Queen James" did with his KJV.
As the commandment states "other gods before me", he is acknowledging that there ARE other gods, but that his followers have to see them as below himself.
And for the last time Ray, it's not the commandments that alienate the Atheist from the Bible.
It's the monumental stupidity and bullshit rituals of the Bible and it's denominational practices and agendas.
A person cannot be nailed to wood to pay for the sins of the next 2000 years of people, if you believe this you admit allegiance to a crazy God and that book is loaded with even more examples of a mad bi-polar deity. You admit to being a nutter.
Now I wouldn't call every Christian a nutter, the moderates or those who can see scripture as allegory, parables or fables, they're engaged in a spiritual journey that I've opted out of and thrown the brochure away.
But you Ray, You've proven you're a nutter many many times over. You make up stupid stories with ridiculous logic fails, you debate like your in a schoolyard argument and you lie all the time.
Einstein believed only in the God of Spinoza. That is to say, he was a pantheist who applied the word "god" to the universe and it's natural functions. Now, whether Einstein was a natural pantheist or whether he believed that the universe had a sort of spiritual component (not unlike the Force in Star Wars) is another matter entirely that none of us can really speculate on.
The point, Ray, is that Einstein may or may not have believed in some form of spiritual power, but he certainly did not believe in anything that you would consider "God".
Accusing Einstein of not believing in the ridiculous claims of the Torah because he just wanted to sleep around. Classic Ray....
Ray, you can't even abide by the rule governing what kind of clothing you should wear. Even if you were right (which, as usual, you're not) you still wouldn't get to call others on refusing to believe that a supposedly all-loving, all-merciful god would engage in favoritism and torture with his "children".
So Einstein made up his own version of God
So did the bunch of anonymous Bronze Age Arabs you base your version of God on. At least his version makes a little more rational sense.
@Canadiest :"A person cannot be nailed to wood to pay for the sins of the next 2000 years of people"
and "A person cannot be nailed to wood to pay himself for the sins of the next 2000 years of people" makes even less sense.
"My position concerning God is that of an agnostic. I am convinced that a vivid consciousness of the primary importance of moral principles for the betterment and ennoblement of life does not need the idea of a law-giver, especially a law-giver who works on the basis of reward and punishment."
-Albert Einstein
Another quote by him:
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
The human he was talking about - with great foresight - is you , Ray Cumfart.
@gimel
Pantheism: Worship of non-stick cookware. X3
So Einstein made up his own God, eh? How do you determine if a God is made up or not, Ray?
The God of the Bible also said "You shall not bear false witness", Ray...where does that leave you?
He was not an atheist but an agnostic.
Also, even though I oppose Gobs' "adultery is evul" nonsense, it's not because I wish to commit adultery but because it is so ill-defined and such a small transgression that it is meaningless.
@Alencon
I know the con doesn't fly as well down there but what about Ken Ham? I've seen the creationist video stunts caught on down there too, please ridicule them as much as you can.
We've got these fucks in Canada too, not as many again because our Bible Belts more broken up into communes here and there. In the Bible Belt in the Red States of America it's obvious it takes very little (Ray Comfort, Ken Ham) to be stupid AND successful.
Both these asshats saw the market for the full dumbfuck con in America, they may have just come for the statistically more Christian numbers but their success is based on the much more gullible Christians numbers.
So fucking what? Maybe he didn't believe he would say that because most of Gods chosen ones had a bunch a' fucking concubines, not to mention one of them had one girls husband killed because he had the hots for her, while he was STILL FUCKING MARRIED! Plus i'd just like to point out that quote is referring to gods other than him, not no gods at all.
It doesn't matter whether Einstein was an atheist or not. We can still admire his huge contribution to science, as, unlike you, someone's personal beliefs don't bias our judgement towards their work.
Einstein would have had the same impact in the scientific community if his work was of the same standard whilst being a Christian. This is in stark contrast to you who would dismiss anyone that went against the grain of Christian thought because you don't like the consequences.
Confused?
