The difference is basically this:
Terrorists are activists who intimidate by breaking shit that isn't theirs to break.
It's definitely overly broad (includes everything from a serial monkeywrencher to the 9/11 perps), but it's a good first approximation. In a sense, the Sons of Liberty were terrorists, though they were more concerned with terrorizing the colonial governments than harassing citizens. But by that token you also can't call someone a terrorist for advocating a dissenting opinion, any more than you can legitimately claim oppression when someone is stopping you from harrassing others with religious doctrine. (There's a reason even some democratic countries have anti-proselytization laws -- it's not just about religious protectionism.)
As for "abortion=murder", I agree that it's quite unpleasant, but personally I've always advocated a two-trimester rule based on matters of viability and consciousness.

Terrorism seeks to use violence and fear not as an end unto itself, but as a means to an end... sounds a lot like someone using violence and fear to get people to stop destroying a bunch of cells inside their body (I didn't use the word "kill" because you cannot kill something that is not alive).
Is it "murder" when you clean your fish tank and toss out or otherwise get rid of the algae that accumulates? Or how about throwing out moldy cheese or bread? They are more alive than your so called "murdered innocents".

I think your mindset is more in line with that of the Taliban. Murder to stop murder is murder for all that! I don't make a false distinction as you do. It is a moral foundation stone that the end never justifies the means.
Terrorism is any act "intended to cause death or serious bodily harm to civilians or non-combatants with the purpose of intimidating a population or compelling a government or an international organization to do or abstain from doing any act."
However murder to stop murder is simply a matter of mathematics. If I kill this tin pot dictator, if it will save more than one person it is not murder (not legally of course- the law doesn't care, which his guy doesn't seem to grasp- but morally, certainly). Less than one person (not cell) it is.

A "terrorist" is someone who uses violence or the threat of violence in an attempt to generate sufficient fear, or "terror" in a target population, group, or government to force that target population, group, or government to comply with the wishes and demands of the terrorist.
Abortion clinic bombers are doing precisely that. There is no difference between a member of the KKK, a member of al Qaeda, and an abortion clinic bomber.
