What is it with young earth scientists that gets everyone riled up so? What are people afraid of? It's just science like I thought people liked and put their faith in. If it is wrong then it will be corrected like people say all science corrects itself. The people that did the reasearch are real scientists, with real degrees. Why make it a person attack? The evidence speaks for itself.

Uh yeah, It IS wrong, and HAS been corrected, yet people still back it because they haven't a clue as to what the REAL science says.

The people didn't do the research, are not real scientists, do not have real degrees. Besides that the evidence is sometimes extremely convoluted and counterintuitive, which is exactly why it took 10,000 years to develop the theory of evolution.
The thing that really gets me riled up about Creationists defending Creationism is the 'mountains of evidence' all of them claim to have. If you talk to evolutionists, you'll probably actually get to hear some of the evidence supporting our side, (transitional fossils, mutation theories, observed cases of evolution, &c.) but ask for even a slice of the 'Creationist evidence' and the debate will probably turn into a shouting match if it continues at all.
It HAS been disproven! The real scientists are in agreement that evolution is backed up by evidence, and young earth creationism is groundless pseudo-science. As for degrees, the REAL real scientists actually studied for theirs, unlike the fundies with their drive-thru PHDs
What gets me "riled up" is the YECist "scientists" use the title of scientists without using the scientific method.

I remember, in primary school, writing a hypothesis that was disproven, so I tried to doctor the results to show my hypothesis was correct.
Afraid? No. Mystified? Yes. Amused? Hell, yeah.
Young Earth hypothesis has already been refuted, again and again and again. They still pop up whit the same arguments.

The evidence indeed speaks for itself, and the young earth scenario is plainly wrong. Of course, your idea of a real scientist is probably Kent Hovind, in reality a convicted thief with a degree that's worth less than second hand toilet paper.
No wonder you clowns will believe anything, when you buy into the likes of old Kent.
Its more than evidence that is speaking, it is results. The Theory of Evolution has allowed numerous advances in medicine, agriculture and numerous other fields. These are tangible benefits that are improving the quality of life for people around the world, like vaccines.
YEC has produced nothing tangible. It benefits no one except YEC propagandists. And yet, ignorant fans of YEC demand it be given equal time in classrooms (at least) and that its proponents be given respect they have done absolutely nothing to earn.
That's why I, for one, am "riled up so!"
