The issue is way more fundamental than Constitutional jibber jabber. Everyone generally agrees that there are no universal rights....with very few exceptions...to do anything you want to....even the homosexuals understand this obvious point.

To support gay marriage but oppose polygamy is not a judgement on morality because the two things are not comparable. One us born gay, but polygamy is a lifestyle which usually can't even be called a choice because it is the result of religious brainwashing, and it exploits and victimizes women and children.

It's the anti-gay crowd who are always bringing up "But people are going to want to marry children, animals, etc..." I don't have a problem with plural marriages as long as everyone involved in one is OK with the arrangement, but obviously children and animals can't give informed legal consent. And that's what we've been saying all along.

Nono, homosexuals have a moral and legal right to fair and completely equal treatment. Part of that is the right to do something straight people can - get legally married.
Another option for getting rid of the inequality here would be to abolish marriage, but I don't think that's going to be a winner with you, is it?

In the US, you're allowed to do anything the state doesn't pass a valid law against (9th and 10th amendments). And there are certain things the state is not allowed to pass a law against, including treating one person or group of people differently than another (14th amendment).

So basically, that's "homo power" plus the will of the majority, since corporations wouldn't disown bigotry and support gay rights if they didn't think it was profitable.
Homosexuals do not believe that all rights are universal or can't be restricted. They just want to get civilly married and they will be able to within the next five years and you'll probably cry in a corner or rage impotently on the computer.
Russia has always been backwards and the anti-gay law has increased violence against homosexuals and stifled their free speech. But then homos are abominations so they deserve all that mistreatment, right?
Most of us gay people don't care about polygamy at all. If such people wish to get it legalized, let them work for it like w have. But here's the problem; the basis of legal marriage rests on primary kinship, a concept that doesn't work with more than two people. They will need to come up with legally-valid ways to deal with the problems of multiple ownership, guardianship, custody, etc. They will also have to make some very strict guidelines about religious groups indoctrinating kids to believe their only option is to enter into a polygamous relationship.
As for those LGBT nukes....SHHHHHHH! Nobody's supposed to know about our gleaming missiles of various shapes and sizes, ready to explode on command...
