Few (Western) people actually attack Christianity. What they attack is Christians who constantly try to push their views and narrow, hate-filled "morality" into our laws and schools. The Christians who keep trying to resurrect abortion laws, put Christian displays onto our public property, outlaw the teaching of evolution, try to reinstate public school prayers and stop same-sex marriage simply reap what they sow. You can't claim freedom of speech just for yourself - the people who think you're a sanctimonious fool have free speech, too. If you don't want criticism, just stay home, go to church, mind your own business and let everyone else do what they like. You can't criticize them for reacting to something you started.
