No I am correct.
there is one Lord, and Christ is not divided.
the liberals do not live as the apostles live, and they outright support things that the Word condemns.
I fail to see any way whatsoever that a person who is a TRUE CHRISTIAN would have any liberal ideology. I fail to see any scripture that supports liberal positions, for that matter.
it pretty much makes and ironclad case.

Give to the poor, rich people don't go to heaven, the church is not a place to make a profit, aid the sick, feed the hungry, love your neighbour...
I surmise that, to spinach, Christianity is all about opposing abortion, hating gay people, and wanting to see Muslims dead.
So, by his(?) definition, liberal and Christian are contradictory.
Well, you know, he's right. The Bible pretty much says nothing about taxation levels or public welfare, is silent on the topic of international trade agreements, and fails to condemn corporate capitalism on every page.
Of course, it doesn't support conservative positions, either.

You skip right over the gospels and Acts when you read, don't you?
Of course they don´t. They´re polyglots, feed the poor, give their money to the poor, don't put more burden than essential to others, they do visit guys in jail and lodge emmigrants...................

So... guess Jesus wasn't a True Christian then...
Sometimes you really wonder if they bother reading the Bible anymore.
Never read your Bible, huh spinach? The word "liberal" in dealings with other humans appears SEVEN times in the KJV Bible. The word Conservative in dealing with your fellow man occurs, ZERO. So you are NOT a True Christian, you don't even know your own Bible, faker. You're a fraud.
I fail to see that the scripture supports any ideology remotely connected to the real world.
So what, is he suggesting that conservatives live like the disciples? In order to live like the disciples, give up modern medicine, clothing, and food, and move to the desert. Have fun.
Well, he has a point: since the fundie brand of "true Christian" is essentially iron-bound in dogmatic doctrine, any attempt to consider or promote change would be intrinsically "evil." Since Liberals (pretty much by definition) are open to new ideas and interpretations of existing thought, "Liberalism" and "Fundie True Christian" are oil and water.
Of course, anyone with even half a brain will eventually figure out that anything that refuses to adapt and change to meet new challenges and environments is doomed to extinction, be it a species, a scientific theory, a philosophy, or a religion.
By remaining locked in dogma, fundie religions of all sorts are committing slow suicide.

No, you're an idiot.

Your point being...?

Oh, and I bet you do? Per-fucking-lease. Get over yourself.

Because liberal/moderate Christians tend to believe that Jesus was the ultimate authority, and (I can't speak for all non-Fundies here, so do forgive me for my assumptions) we tend to take the Bible as a historical account, and that while the men who wrote may have been divinely inspired, they were not infalliable. They were mortals; not Jesus himself. Therefore, the Bible isn't inerrent or perfect.

Didn't read the Bible in full there, did ya? How about feeding and clothing the poor, loving God and our neighbours with all our hearts, caring for orphans, and many other "liberal" ideas. In my opinion, Jesus today would probably be considered a Socialist; or at the very least, a liberal/libertarian.
it pretty much makes and ironclad case.
No, it does not.
Translation: I can't be bothered to read the Bible since I don't really care about it anyway.
Not to mention overturning the tables, giving all you have to the poor, easier to get a camel through a needle's eye than to get a wealthy guy into Heaven, equal pay regardless of length of workday... the list goes on.
Face it, Jesus may just have been the first recorded communist.
Love everyone regardless of who they are, give everything you have to the poor, pay your taxes, turn the other cheek, don't strut around showing everyone how religious you are ... yep, sounds like a conservative to me! [/sarcasm]
Dang it, on my old computer I had an image of a mock political ad from George W. Bush going up against Jesus, using quotes from the bible to insinuate that Jesus is pro-choice, is in favor of gun control, is against the war in Iraq, and would raise taxes.
Confused?
