My kids would never turn out gay because they've been raised in a healthy, loving home where hetrosexuality? is promoted as the norm. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it.

Funny, I was also raised in a healthy, loving home where heterosexuality is promoted as the norm. Still turned out gay, though.
Again with the promotion. It's all a question of promoting different sexualities. The government promotes faggotry, whereas schools promote casual sex. Churches, in turn, promote heterosexuality. No concept of a world in which people are what they are and no attempt is made by anyone to oppress others.
I think apples are plotting my death, it's my opinion and I'm entitled to it!
See, when you stick that on something retarded, it still sounds retarded, remember that.
Oh, for fuck's sake. I'm so sick of this trend of saying "that's my opinion" after everything and expecting it to then be immune to criticism.
REALITY IS NOT SUBJECTIVE!
You cannot have an opinion on what is or is going to be. You can have a belief, which can then be true or false -- NOT an opinion.
If your kids are gay, they're gay, there's nothing you can do to prevent it. Upbringing has nothing to do with it. We really were raised in a loving, healthy, christian home, and one of my siblings is gay. But because we were raised in a healthy loving home, we accepted it, and love and support him the same as we always have.
Sure, you can have your opinion.
By all means please, you are entitled to whatever opinion you want.
Just remember that we can just ignore you.
@Doctor Fishcake
Phylis Schafly has a son (not Andy) who is gay.
Still so sure?
Ermm... I dunno if this is evidence to refute KBA. I mean, I've got no knowledge of it one way or the other, but do you really think the Schlafly home was "healthy" and "loving?"
KBActive... How can I tell you this without shattering your delusions......
Your oppinion doesnt matter one damned bit.
And no matter how homophobicly you raise your kids... if the genetic switches for sexuality are in the homo position... your kid will be gay.
Funny, KB, I was rasied in a healthy, loving home where hetErosexuality is promoted as the norm. Yet here I am -- a lesbian. Weird, huh?
And if you openly acknowledge it as your opinion, don't parade it as fact.
Except it's not your opinion, it's your churchs and it's wrong. Studies will bear out no early indoctrination into homosexual preference, in fact most homosexuals feel like outcasts most their lives.
The churchs stance is, of course, God would never make you gay so it must be parenting or peer indoctrination. As usual the church creates bullshit and the flock follows in step.
Consider this:
For each male biological child that a woman has, the higher the probability is that a subsequent male child will be gay. (This is one of the major patterns suggesting that there may be non-genetic biological triggers for sexual orientation; the same state may be triggered by genes in one person and prenatal hormones in another.) Fundies tend to have larger numbers of children -- so just from the above pattern, fundie families may be somewhat more likely to produce gay men. (Not sure what the pattern is for lesbians -- there are still too many androcentric biologists, so women don't tend to be the focus of as many studies.)
The Bible doesn't approve of you raising your kid to be "hetrosexual." Even though nobody really knows what a "hetrosexual" is, the fact that it sounds alternative lifestyle-ish would make any True Christian feel vaguely uncomfortable, and that makes it worth morally condemning.
My kids would never turn out gay because they've been raised in a healthy, loving home where hetrosexuality?
Are you trying to tell us here that you are having sex with your kids, hetero sex that is? Are you that sick?
Oh, yes, that's a pretty picture you paint there.
How about you just teach them their options and let them go? I've NEVER heard of someone ditching their religion because of their sexual orientation. Or anyone ever hiding it and hating themselves... none of THAT stuff ever happened.
Dumbass.
[end snark]
You may be of the opinion that raising someone in a "healthy, loving home where hetrosexuality? [sic] is promoted as the norm" will prevent them from turning out gay, but that doesn't make it correct. You may also be of the opinion that your kids will never "turn out" gay, but that doesn't necessarily make it true. Although you might "get lucky" (from your perspective) and have all your kids be straight. But you might not. And you have to deal with that.
"My kids would never turn out gay because they've been raised in a healthy, loving home where hetrosexuality is promoted as the norm."
Ah yes, just like 90+% of homosexuals, well, it's not really healthy and loving if your kids have to worry about getting rejected because of their sexuality now is it?
I remember a family in the town I grew up where the father boasted with nearly the same nonsense. "My Kids, Gay??? Impossible!!! Never! We are good christians here!!!"
Guess what happened ;-)
His eldest son came out when he was 18 yrs old. He applied for a stipend immediately, moved to a college on the other side of the country, and he is now married happily to a good-looking hispanic, and successful in his job as an engineer.
His father is devastated, he has disinherited him and does not speak with him anymore. His son has the sweetest revenge on his bigot father: He simply doesn't care, and has a happy and fulfilled life.
You know who else was raised in a healthy, loving home where heterosexuality was promoted as the norm? Oscar Wilde. And Elton John. And Freddie Mercury. And Rock Hudson. All gay. So....yeah, take that, buddy.
Confused?
