One of the largest challenges for Young Earth Creationists is providing a valid scientific explanation for the causes of the Great Flood. This flood was the means of God's judgment on mankind because of the evil in their hearts and actions. Though there is some geological evidence for a massive worldwide flood, one question remains: where did all that water come from?

" where did all that water come from?"
A giant man with a long white beard who lives on clouds poofed it out of nothing.
Problem solved, question answered.
Easy. Just say "Goddidit" and be done with it. If someone asks for further clarification, you can simply use the expanded version of "The bible says it, I believe it, and that settles it."

Actually, there remain quite a lot more questions. First that comes to mind is "Where did all the water go?"

They have a good answer for that, the ocean water we have today is the flood water.
Actually, a bigger question would be: what did The Flood accomplish? It was supposed to eliminate all the evil people in the world, but the descendants of Noah turned out to be just as evil. So, The Flood didn't do what it was supposed to do. What was the point? It's obvious that God's Intelligently Designed humans are defective, and repeated efforts to get rid of the defects have failed. God obviously doesn't know what He is doing.

For a given value of “good“. ;-)
Also, that answer doesn’t really work. The seas are already mentioned in Genesis 1:9. And Genesis 8 explicitly tells us that the “waters receded”. Just not where to.

There was some hope for JLauttamus until they said that.

It's better than "It fell out of the sky from somewhere". At least we have water in the ocean today but we have no clue where it was before the flood.
The value of good isn't very high but it's>0.
"Though there is some geological evidence for a massive worldwide flood..."
Err, no there isn't. Talk to any REAL Geologist on this one.
There ISN'T any "geological evidence for a massive worldwide flood", in fact, unbroken records from places like China (distant) and Egypt (right next door) make no mention of a flood in that time period. So stop trying to determine how many angels can dance on the head of that pin.
"where did all that water come from?"
Why is that a challenge? I mean, you accept "magic" as a valid explanation for everything else in the book. Just say "god magiced the water into being", and be done with it. I mean, he magiced the whole universe into being, so a little water should be no problem.
"there is some geological evidence for a massive worldwide flood"
No, there isn't.
Why do you want an explanation?
Why are you so desperate to explain away what your own holy book teaches was a miracle by reducing it to merely physical causes?
You attack everyone who believes in an old universe that runs on recognizable, mathematically-describable rules of physics, or who holds true the idea that all living things on Earth descend from a single simple, common ancestor by understandable physical and biological processes because they refuse to believe in magic....and yet, you're so uncomfortable with the very IDEA of magic yourselves that you hasten to explain it away as quickly as you can.
Make up your minds. Either it was a fucking miracle, or it wasn't.
god's behavior indicates he is either a sociopath, or completely inept. Also, he may have Down Syndrome or be autistic, but that's purely speculation on my part. Frankly, I've yet to see one single shred of evidence of his existence.

...and that's why you lot lost Kitzmiller vs. Dover just over a decade ago.
