Negroes, like yourself, are dumbfounded by the veneration of other than ourselves since you have little, to no, ability of thinking beyond satisfying their own insatiable need of gratification. The idea of basking in other people's glory and achievements because of the monumental development of said glory or achievement utterly alien to Negros.

We, whites, bask in our people's achievements because those achievements have created the civilization we currently enjoy. Our ancestors struggled, scrimped, saved, suffered humiliation & ridicule, braved the seas, ventured into the known, fought against tyranny, spoke out against injustices.
Yours did not (although the 60 year old lies of the hippies would have you believe other).

Unlike blacks, who think only of their individual selves, whites know that our modern world is wholly responsible thanks to the those that came before and gave us cures for the disease that ravaged mankind for centuries, created the trillions of inventions that makes life so easy and comfortable. We celebrate the brave men and women who traveled into the unknown often for no other reason than "because its there".

The answer is simple and alien to your way of thinking. Why would anyone be proud to white? Because we recognize the greatness in the achievements of our white ancestors.
