After all, was it not the 13th Century Catholic theologian Thomas Acquinas who stated that souls only enter the body of a male child after 40 days, and that of a female child after 80 days? And wasn't Protestantism created precisely as a reactionary force against Catholicism's hyper-rigid doctrines; giving individual people choice, and the right to decide for themselves, and 'clergy' denied the right to tell people what to do?
