[Contrary to the observation of Lenin—a lie told often enough does not become true.]
Well, I'm not lying, so I don't see the relevance. Homosexuals have the same rights I do. They may marry one person of the opposite sex, just as I may.

And you continue to miss the fucking point, asshole. All they want is to be able to marry who they love. Heterosexual people can marry people they love; why shouldn't homosexuals have the same right?
EDIT: oops, The Watcher beat me to it...
Actually guys, KarateCowboy has no chance of marrying for love either, so they do sort of have the same rights as this pathetic piece of shit.
I'm not sure how that's a good argument for maintaining the inhumane and intolerant status quo though. (I'm miserable, you should be too - very classy)
"Well, I'm not lying, so I don't see the relevance. The Ukrainians had the same rights that I do. They may support the glorious regime, just as may I"

And that´s why the church and state anull marriages?. Listen man, NO HOMOSEXUAL MAN, who has come out the closet, I mean, and no lesbian woman wants to marry a person of the other sex. They can do to hide their condition for fear(but what´s the point if they admit being?) and most important, people of the opposite sex don´t want either. Nobody wants to share the life with somebody who, in the best case, is your friend, not your lover. Besides, if taken to the extreme, there are no kids and no sex. Homosexual people can do whatever they think more convenient to suit their condition and morals, but not pretend to be straights.
Not this old chestnut again. They aren't really asking for the "right to marry" someone of the same sex. They are asking for the right to determine the course of their own life without interference from asshats like you who want to force them to accept your personal values. They don't want the right to murder, or rape, or molest children, which is what morons like you usually say at this point, they simply want to right to be free from moral facism.
Why does the fact that someone else does not share your personal religious value system enrage you so much?
Well the first comment took care of the one smackdown of this, so I'll do the less common but equally valid one.
Men are allowed to marry women, and women are allowed to marry men. This is discrimination by gender. Therefore, marriage must be gender-neutral.
QED
Saying that homosexuals have the same rights as you because they can marry one person of the opposite sex, the same as you, reminds me of Henry Ford saying that anyone could buy a Model T Ford in any color they wanted, so long as it was black.

Sandman: "Why does the fact that someone else does not share your personal religious value system enrage you so much?"
Because it throws doubt on that value system. Fundies can't handle doubt. "Everybody has to think just like me so I don't feel alone and vulnerable, and to reassure myself that I'm not wrong. Anybody outside the group is a dangerous enemy just waiting for the opportunity to attack."
People secure in their beliefs and self-esteem are able to tolerate differences that frighten and enrage fundies, because a fundy's faith is actually a very fragile thing. They fear that any doubt might shatter their faith and their sense of self along with it. That's why they react so violently and irrationally to any perceived threat to that faith--consider the Muslim reaction to the Pope's recent remarks.
Actually, this can also be applied to Dubya. Being a fundy himself, he naturally peoples the world with enemies out to destroy him, America, Christianity itself. He's just projecting his ingrained fear onto the rest of the country and trying to make us as frightened as he is.
KarateCowboy , you are invited to the brand new "United States of Amerikka", in which everyone has the right to vote for the Communist of his or her choice!
But I don't call that a right to vote, just as your idea isn't actually a right to marry.
wow. Your reverence for the institution of marriage is shocking. To think that it's a binding legal document, under God if you will, that has nothing whatever to do with the affections or wishes of the participants.
Are you 12 years old or just an idiot?
Guys... I hate to say it, but YOU are all the ones missing the point. Karate Cowboy is right. Homosexuals DO have the same rights that straight people do in that they can marry someone of the opposite sex. They may not want to, but that is irrelevant, because IT IS STILL THE SAME RIGHT.
Asking to be able to marry someone of the same sex is an ADDITIONAL right, because man != woman. Hence homosexuals are asking for an expansion of rights.
Now, if gay marriage is legalized, everyone has equal rights at that point. KC never said he didn't support that. He was just pointing out the technicality of saying that "homosexuals just want the same rights". They already have them.
You all need to work on your critical thinking before you decide to jump all over a quote and take it out of context. Ya think?
And before any of you jump all over me and call me a fundie, I support the hell out of gay rights.
What? Same == Equal. I don't understand how you can differentiate the two. Furthermore, it's fairly obvious that whoever took this quote took it a bit out of context and posted it up here so that people could flame KarateCowboy.
Who is really at fault here, hmm?
Voice of "Reason". Karate Cowboy said rights, plural, not right, singular. Gays do not have the same rights he does which includes the right to marry the one person they love most, or as
Angel Kaida put it - he has the right to marry a woman, but she does not. That is sex discrimination
Suppose I now pass a law that says that everyone has the right to kill those who I would like to see die. we can kill the same people, but that is not equal rights. I have the right to kill those I would like to kill and you don't.
The problem here is if the right is to marry the person you choose to, or marry a person of the opposite sex you choose to. In the case of heterosexuals, those to rights are the same, in the case of homosexuals they are not.
Ah yes, the fundie's final argument: "That quote is out of context!"
Buddy, if you were to click the words "Christian Forums" beside KarateCowboy's name it would take you directly to the actual post. There's your context.
In that case, we'll have to campaign to give heterosexuals the right to marry their own sex. It's a right, after all, not a mandate. So, if we give them the right to marry their own sex, then they can't complain that we want special rights. We'll give everyone the same rights!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
