If there is no God, then why are there Satan worshippers and the occult? That question is an interesting one indeed. I could understand a Christian doing what they doing because they are anticipating greener pastures when they die and go to heaven. But why would anyone be involved in the occult or Satan worship if their only future is in hell? I mean, the Satanists do believe in a Divine Creator. So why would they spend their lives making God mad by spiting Him in rebellion. I could understand someone not wanting to believe in God at all, but why worship the devil if you do believe in God? It just doesn't make any sense.

You seem to be confusing atheists with satanists and cultists again, Davey. It's not that hard: Atheists, by definintion, do not believe in anything supernatural, nor do they generally worship something or someone. Period.

But why would anyone be involved in the occult or Satan worship if their only future is in hell? I mean, the Satanists do believe in a Divine Creator. So why would they spend their lives making God mad by spiting Him in rebellion. I could understand someone not wanting to believe in God at all, but why worship the devil if you do believe in God? It just doesn't make any sense.

Considering how in even your own bible, god is a magnificent jackass and satan, the so-called Father of Lies, is more prone to actually tell the truth, it's no wonder some people prefer Satan. If not to just be anti-God out of principle.

Because the devil is just as mythical as God? Just because some people are Satanists doesn't prove that God is real.

I may be wrong, but I really doubt that there are a lot of people out there who seriously worship the devil. I think most of them are probably disassociated teenagers who think it's "cool" to be devil worshipers. Or, if they really are into devil worship, they probably think that Satan will destroy God. I don't know, though, you'd have to find them and ask them.

The Occult isn't necessarily religious; it's just hidden knowledge. Most professions that make use of specialized jargon and knowledge that the majority of the population don't have, or have access to, could be considered "occult" you nit.

You seem unaware that there are different kinds of Satanism. The classic LeVeyan Satanism is atheistic, as I've said. Others use the archetypal Christian Satan only symbolically to represent an entirely unconnected entity. Still others actually do worship the Christian Satan. There are also those groups who are labeled "Satanists" by outsiders--such as yourself--who simply worship a god different than yours.

This question actually has interesting answers! The most obvious is that modern Satanism exists mostly as a comment on Christianity and is only about as much a religion as Confucianism or perhaps Shintoism are (though Shintoism is a religion, it is different from other 1st world religions in its lack of a formal political hierarchy).

Another, perhaps less applicable explanation is that many of the competing religious practices throughout the world had their primary figures of worship demonized by missionaries into the area. Where, perhaps, a god of the sun and fertility with a bull's head is identified as a powerful demon in Christian canon, but remains the same bull/fertility god it was for the original worshiping population.

Satanists come in many different flavors, Davey.

A theistic satanist believes that Satan is the father of all divine beings, and that God is the counterpart who kidnapped the reigns.

A Luciferian believes that Lucifer (light-bearer) is the true Savior/Messiah of mankind. Thus, Satan and his cohorts would be the good guys.

La Veyian satanists don't actually believe in Satan. They believe in man, and in man's natural tendencies towards the flesh, the carnal, and the sinful.

So, to answer your question: you know nothing of Satanism, and are setting up straw-man arguments.

Oh yeah, and that "big bad" occult is heavily based on something called Qabalah. Which is a fancy word for "Jewish mysticism". Which deals with GODS emanations in existence, as well as other Judaic and Christian archetypes.

Along with a whole lot of other stuff. It's very synthetic. But you wouldn't know, as you've never actually bothered studying the practice, which has been kept alive by CHRISTIANS.

A guy I've never met in my life turns towards me, and sneezes in my face.
I looked at him and I went "God bless you" which you know, IS god bless you, but it kinda sounded like "Cover your fucking mouth"

It's quite simple, Dick. There is no god, yet you worship your ass off. There is no satan, yet people worship a being by that name, although their views of that being are generally different than the xtian views of said being. People worship the sun, moon, and stars, but that's more rational as we can clearly see that they exist. Some people worship beings that look like they came out of a sci-fi magazine. And, most people who don't worship your god, but satan, or pagan deities, don't believe in your hell. It's all a matter of belief, and has no basis in reality. And, there are those who believe in your god, and yet fight against him.
