It's unfortunate that you do not understand how Biblical counselling and deliverance/exorcism sets people free. It boggles my mind how one would defend normal psychiatric practice. I am in the profession and not one person has been set free through medication and normal psych practices. Yet thousands have been set free through Jesus Christ.

Why are you in the profession if it doesn't work? That kind of makes you a hypocritical douche who only cares about making money, doesn't it? Well, at least that's something you have in common with the rest of the fundies.
So your in the profession, but you dont think its helped anyone and we should go back to the superstitious BS we had before psychiatry? Anyone else reminded of the 'biologists' and 'experts in the field' who dont think evolution has any evidence and we should go back to explaining it all with superstitious bullshit? Lieing for jesus is still lieing sinner.

I'm Bipolar. The psych meds I have to take "set me free" from the crippling depressions and dangerous manic behavior I would otherwise be helpless against.
I only get suicidal if provoked to the point where I go on a small rampage, after which I feel horrible and wish to die, if I hurt someone. I'm not religious at all, I just take my meds.
"It boggles my mind how one would defend normal psychiatric practice."
I'm not a huge fan of it either as it seems just this side of hoo-doo but at least it's based on science.
"I am in the profession and not one person has been set free through medication and normal psych practices. Yet thousands have been set free through Jesus Christ."
Burying your head in a book of superstition and surrounding yourself with people who will first brainwash you and then continually reinforce such delusions is not being "set free".
Only because, by "set free" you mean "converted to Christianity/made stronger in the Christian faith."
Psychiatrists don't convert people because that isn't their job. Their job is generally to prescribe pills that fool you into thinking your problems are gone.
While I think psychiatrists/cologists are full of shit and get paid for handing out sugar pulls and telling patients over and over to just get better their FAR more effective then mumbling to yourself, er, prayer.
Yep, the bible sets you free. You don't have to live in a certain way, have to wear specific clothes, have to pray, have to do this, don't do that, at all. The bible is freeing the world, you are so correct.
We have a saying in Norwegian about people working in the mental health care industry "Fra ansatt til innsatt" Meaning "From employee to patient (inmate)" (As you can see, it's a play on words).
secondself2 seems to fit the category.
First, bullshit.
Second, why do I have a feeling that your alleged sessions involve pounding on the Bible as opposed to hearing one word the person has to say?
Third, I say alleged, because for all you know, I'm a black belt nuclear physicist with a supermodel wife.
Fourth, just because a person jumps up and yells "Praise Jesus, I'm cured!" does not mean they really are cured.
You are not free until you remove your shackles of flesh. Only through the purity of the eternal soul can one achieve freedom. Thus, medicine is imprisonment, and serial murder is liberation.
See how I can twist meaning about?
Why do I get the feeling this is a "Lying for jesus" post? I seriously doubt he's a psychiatrist. Do all people who go for medication and psychological counseling find relief? No, of course not. However, this doesn't mean that they are possessed by imaginary beings causing great pain and suffering.
You're "in the profession"? Somehow I think that means you're a first year psych student. :/ Elsewise you'd recognize the effectiveness of psychological and psychiatric treatments. Unless you mean "free[dom]" from non-psychological problems, in which case you're just an idiot. That, or a liar. Every time you lie for Jesus, it makes baby Jesus cry.
I think he/she means the 'Biblical counselling and deliverance/exorcism' profession. No trained psychiatrist could spout such nonsense.
Thousands have been imprisoned, in superstition and inability to reason, through Jesus Christ.
Secondself2 is obviously one of them, knowing nothing and understanding less.
Posting fundie claptrap on YouTube is a symptom of a psychiatric disorder that may be treated by the appropriate medication and long-term therapy. But in this case it may be too late.
