Fourteen-year-old Caiden Cowger, who hosts the twice-weekly "Caiden Cowger Show," made his anti-gay proclamations in a recent broadcast, video of which was uploaded to his YouTube channel on May 26. "Homosexuality is a belief," Cowger, who has previously interviewed former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, declares. "The person is not born that way, no matter what Lady Gaga says...it is a decision."

After confessing that he was once friends with some kids who have since come out as gay, he notes, "They were not homosexuals [then]...they just decided all of a sudden, 'I think I'm going to be gay,'" before he eventually concludes, "I'm going to tell you this, guys: President Obama...Vice President Biden...is making kids gay!"

Cowger, who is identified by The New Civil Rights Movement as a Pentecostal Christian, slams homosexuality as "a perverted belief, it's immoral and not natural" before noting, "I'm not for bullying homosexuals, I believe that it's wrong. But when you're trying to teach them the word of God and they consider that bullying...I find that a big problem, not being allowed to convert other people to my religion."

Homosexuality was categorically proven to be biological nearly four years ago. This is not up for debate any more. I know fundies loathe science but try and keep up.

1) They simply woke up one morning and decided to become on of the most hated minorities in the USA, one of the very few minorities where it's still (somewhat) socially acceptable to accuse them of mass child-molestation?
2) Empirical proof or I call bullshit. In fact, I'm just going to call BULLSHIT right now because that doesn't happen ever.

Fourteen-year-olds should be in school, learning stuff about the world. Not be on TV-shows and trying to teach stuff about the world, which they know very little about at that tender age.

They were gay then too, stupid, they were just too scared to tell anyone. And, if they are about as young as you are, child, they oughtn't to have that much of a previous sex-life anyway.

President Obama and Vice President Biden ARE making life a little more bearable for gay kids. If you think you can choose to be gay, then you must be at least bi-sexual, idiot.

What this kid is saying is simply grotesque; we all know that. However, since he is just 14 years old, I am a little concerned about the amount of shit he is likely to get now that he has become a (relatively) well-known figure.

I don't think anyone is going to try to harm him, but you can pretty much guarantee that there will be at least a few hundred people out there who can't control their righteous indignation, and send him messages that either look like death threats, or are laced with profanity and aggression towards him.

All it takes is a handful of these kinds of messages; they will be accumulated and presented back to everyone in news pieces as evidence of the "intolerance" of liberals and homosexuals. He will become a "free-speech martyr" among right-wing Christians, and the story will be that "liberal thugs send death threats to 14-year-old boy simply for spreading the Gospel" etc etc.

It is so predictable, that the conspiracy theory part of me wonders if this is the response that they expressly want to generate; perhaps not Caiden himself, but rather someone who is in some way in charge of him.

I hope he doesn't have to deal with too much shit, but sadly it is pretty much inevitable. The shame he feels when he is older (if he comes to his senses) will be sufficient "punishment" in my book.

So what are you saying, Caiden - that you're actually turned on by boys but you've made a decision to prefer girls? Guess what: if you're turned on by boys and can make that decision, you're gay (or at least bi-sexual)!

Now me, personally, I wouldn't have sex with a guy with a gun to my head. It isn't a "decision" I made - I just don't find men any more sexually attractive than rhinoceroses, kangaroos or lawnmowers. That's the way my brain was wired. Brooklyn Decker, sure. George Clooney - as sexy as some women find him - no way! My wife, the other way around. On the other hand, if you're turned on by George Clooney, more power to you. I could care less. You should, too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Anyone who says that being gay is a choice has to be either bisexual or really ****in' stupid. And I'm too sure about the latter option, 'cause I'm not even sure you can even be as dumb as to not know which sex your drawn to. After all, what these people are implying is that, with enough willpower, a straight man (even a god-fearing, weight-liftin', country pop listenin' trucker who listens to Rush Limbaugh's broadcast while hauling ethanol through the midwest) can get in bed with another straight man (in this case then two redneck truckers) and enjoy it. But let's just keep it simple, Mr. Cowger... if you get a hard-on watching gay porn, you might just be gay. So just come out of the closet already... or at least realize that religious belief and equal rights are not mutually exclusive.

The truth is that at 14 years old this sort of talk can only be as the result of indoctrination. It may, however open him to the possibility that sexual orientation doesn't just point in one direction. What follows from this is if he is gay orientated, then he will be outed or crack under the strain of living a lie. Or if really straight, then he is another Fred Phelps in the making. Neither is much to look forward to.

Fourteen year olds should be left alone to be kids. Turning them into arrogant gits only makes problems for them in later life.

Well, it looks like all that evidence that sexual orientation has biological causes must have been false. You do have evidence to prove that homosexuality is a choice, right? No? I didn't think so.

They just decided, "I want to be treated like a second-class citizen because not having as many rights as everyone else is just so great!" Yeah, that makes perfect sense. It couldn't be that they went through this thing called "puberty" and discovered their sexuality. (Don't worry, you'll find out what puberty is eventually)

I think it's already been established that homosexuality is not a belief, but an unchangeable orientation. As for "immoral", no, sorry, but a consenting relationship between two adults of the same gender doesn't hurt anyone, so wrong again. They weren't *SEXUAL*. Period. They were in *elementary school*. They aren't sexual. The chemistry/biology doesn't work that way.

When they get to middle school... bam... yes, they start sexualizing, and some will be gay, and some (most) will be straight.

He was *not* thinking about having sexual relations with girls or women when he was 6, just like his classmates weren't thinking about having sex with boys or men when they were 6 either.

Someone needs to call him out on that.

Oh, yeah, except Christians love to have 4 year olds singing songs with "round 'yon virgin" lyrics. WTF again. Kids shouldn't even be aware of or using the word "virgin" at that age. Yes, I'm a boring old fart, but Christianity plays it's part in exposing kids to sexual concepts *WAY* too early.
