I don't think there is anything wrong with education, so long as it is based on the principles of Gods word. A preacher used to say that educating an unsaved person just turns them into a clever devil.

Yeah when you go start your Republic of Jesusland you can pass a law saying that. But here in the U.S. we're going to remain secular.
To quote Martin Luther: "Reason is the greatest enemy of faith." If your faith is so threatened by education, then maybe you should reexamine your faith.

Let the gods word based education begin.
" principles of Gods word"
Such as Pi=3?
I will stick with modern education if only because of bridge safety. Using biblical principles in that case may cause some people to get bridges dropped upon them.
Better start praying really hard then: as those clever devils who are students in Atheistic China rape your country's financial, industrial, military & intelligence databases.
'Faith' isn't going to provide much of a Firewall, you know. One doesn't learn how to operate - and thus hack - computers using a book of fairytales.
But if you want your country to become inferior to China, you go right ahead: only, don't let the rest of the normal, educated USA go with you.
Secular schools exist to educate in a non-religious (not atheistic) manner. If you want a Christian education, there are plenty of private schools you can send your kids to.
As a Christian educator, I'm open to including religious education at a private school. I went to a Christian university.
I'd be careful, though: nothing makes atheists quite like actually studying the Bible.
That's called Sunday School, not education, dearie.
I'd rather be a clever devil, than an ignorant, deluded sheep.
"unsaved" people are already clever in at least one aspect.
That's what your preacher doesn't like. Here's a hint, take the words Devil or Evil out of every warning your religious leaders spew, that gets you back to the actual thing he's complaining about. If it was really bad, it wouldn't need the qualifier tagged onto it. The other one they use is the Biblical "worldly" because knowing about things is Bad M'kay?
@CrowFood
Are you of a Catholic institution? Because they still teach the sciences and are equal or better in standing as Public schools in decently funded areas.
The Charter school system is using your Catholic School and Private schools without religion to buoy up their results. They're failing at ridiculous levels but lumped in with other private institutions they're dishonestly coasting on the other schools merits. They're just beginning to separate them and are finding this, as these Bible belt charter schools increase these numbers will get worse and drag the real educational institutes down further.
Of course the Right Wing governors will pull these figures all together with the increasingly defunded public schools to show the public schools are failing. They did this with congress over the last 20 years, they made sure it didn't work then blamed the system instead of their obvious interference of it.
Confused?
