[In a discussion of a felony assault trial in which an atheist defender was acquitted, and where Christian plaintiff and witnesses were accused of lying under oath]
I think it should be taken into account that atheists having no fear of holy retribution probably lied under oath. While the Christians who fear God probably told the truth.

Why assume christians fear holy retribution for perjury? After all, lying for Jesus is a centuries-old tradition, and fundies routinely commit all types of crimes and bad acts under the smug assumption that they can get away with them because they've already been "forgiven" and have reservations booked in heaven.
Yeah, because, you know, a trial always, like, fails the find the truth!
Or, the Xians, being deluded and thus having a poor grasp of the difference between truth and fiction, can't be relied upon to give a truthful account whether or not they intended to lie.
"Your Honour, if this is how our courts seek the truth these days, I have no choice but to lay the decision into the hands of the only present entity that I expect to be sensible to reason. I demand trial by wombat!"
So the point here is that Christians tell the truth and atheists lie? That's so absurd that it's difficult to imagine the thought coming from a human brain.
Although it would be a tremendous advantage for me if this were to be adopted as legal precedent. As a Christian, I would be assured that I would always be believed over a non-Christian, even when the evidence did not support me.
And evidence says otherwise. The law of God is there because, Christian or not, people are going to break it. And yes, you see, they did it. For whatever reason, they did it, and the atheist didn't. Keep your true Scotchman for later.
Yeah, those Atheists, no skygod to hover over them with fire and brimstone making sure they don't lie, rape, pillage and murder. Lucky bastards.
If anything, wouldn't the Christian be more apt to lie? The Atheist is bound by his or her own moral code, while the Christian could feasibly lie through their teeth, and be content with "praying for forgiveness" afterwards in order to get into heaven.
Huh.
The Christian could easily lie in court, then go home and pray for forgiveness with all their heart. They often have little respect for the laws of the state.
Hell, you have Senators and Govenors telling people only the laws of God matter and trump laws of the land and the Constitution
Look at the Dover trial, they proved the creationists lied about the Christian God being the ONLY thing they meant by "intelligent Design". They lied as they were directly asked if they meant the Christian God and said "no" repeatedly. They lied about their intentions, where the creationist book came from, how it was put into the school and who did all this.

Those are extremely serious allegations you're making, Gipper (certainly in the eyes of the court).
Are you prepared to take said person to court, and swear - under oath - that he/she committed perjury, with the evidence to prove it?
You'd better hire yourself a good lawyer then. Because if you don't, you'll expose yourself not only as a liar in public (and thus not to be trusted), but you could be taken to court for Libel and Slander.
The evidence is there, on Christian Forums - and here on FSTDT - for everyone to see.
See you in court Gipper, unless you retract what you said on CF, and categorically state that said Atheist didn't lie, and the Christians did .
Confused?
