I'm not surprised you haven't heard of Finland. It's one of those countries that practically never makes the news because they're just far too busy being quietly civilised! They've made some fabulous contributions to the world, though, including the Linux OS, saunas, the good kind of sexy blonde, and this weird salty liquorice stuff they apparently really like.

Sorry don't want to sound pious, but we should never dissuade people from asking questions, even the ones we think are silly.
Sorry, guys, but while I know a little bit about Finland, my command of the language stops at knowing what the word "Suomi" means. (And "sampo", but there are very few occasions when I might get to use that one).

It's east of Sweden, north of Estonia and west of Russia.
Finland is where Helsinki is, you know, the place where FZ recorded that awesome solo.

I've seen Canadian and Australian shows (American to I think) Where they show a unlabeled map to Americans and they (over 60%) can't ballpark where they live. When they use a mislabeled one a large percentage will accept Australia as Iran because it's got Iran written on it. Canadian Rick Mercer once joked (paraphrased) " maybe we should take the names of the maps then go down and burn the White House down again, they'll never find us."
Yes they've done this test in other countries and knowledge of the world is much higher outside America. Americans just don't give a shit about the rest of the world, worse, their education system doesn't either.
