Let's see, The Ordinary Magisterium taught geocentrism, the Father's believed and taught geocentrism and all the faithful held it as true - It is hard to simply deny Pope Urban's directive:
“The proposition that the sun is the center of the world and does not move from its place is absurd and false philosophically and formally heretical, because it is expressly contrary to the Holy Scripture.”
“The proposition that the Earth is not the center of the world and immovable but that it moves, and also with a diurnal motion, is equally absurd and false philosophically and theologically considered at least erroneous in faith.”
Could it possibly be that we all have been misled? I am starting to believe that is the case. More and more data is coming out, empirical scientific data from peer reviewed journals, which unwittingly comes full circle to things like Ether and a central earth.

No.
I am starting to believe that is the case.
You are free to believe anything you want. You are free to believe that the Moon is made of green cheese and pixies live in the woods behind your house. Your belief in those things does not make them true.

Some idiot's blog or a circa-1999-era website consisting of Comic Sans font, an overabundance of exclamation points, and blinking text is not a "peer-reviewed journal."

Can you give us citations from these peer-reviewed journals, oh Great Foremost Authority on Nothing?
....I thought so.
NEXT!
"It is hard to simply deny Pope Urban's directive..."
It's not that hard. Here: "Pope Urban is wrong."
By the way, what university did the pope get his degree from? I see he had a doctorate of law from the University of Pisa, but Wikipedia seems to skip over his astrophysics degree. How odd. Since you are holding him up as an authority on the solar system, I must assume you have some sort of proof that he has the required level of knowledge to make such statements. Last I remembered, the pope was considered infallible on matters of faith, not on matters of physics.

Oh, I think you'll find it is extremely easy . After all, Just ask John Glenn, Valentina Tereshkova, Alexey Leonov, Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Yang Liwei, Zhai Zhigang, Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, and the current crew of the International Space Staion.
And where is Pope Urban today...? Oh yes, that's right: several feet underground, never having left the Earth to prove Galileo wrong himself, therefore his - and every other geocentricists' - argument is invalid. Oh, and centuries later, the RCC having to admit that Galileo was right all along (as well as admitting that the Big Bang is fact) ensures the 'Geocentric Theory' never had the right to exist in the first place.
You want to prove NASA/JPL wrong, Lorel? You've got some fucking heavy-duty space research - including your own space mission(s) - to do, then.
Not only is it not possible but you're a complete idiot unless you'd like to explain how we can send space probes to different planets if our understanding of how the solar system works is completely wrong.
On second thought, don't try to explain. Whatever theory you come up with is sure to be so stupid that I'll die of an aneurysm.

Oh, do tell. Cite those articles in scholarly journals. Dates, issues, qualifications of the authors, things like that. Yeah, I thought so.
not to rag on popes, but that guy is centuries dead and you trust his word. now, we've got resources that even a century ago were beyond the wildest dreams of even the most avant-garde minds. and yet, due to a position of spiritual preeminence, you trust the dead guy. gotcha.
Congratulations, you have discovered Einstein's relativity and now have the opportunity to declare yourself (or Earth, or God, or Jesus) the center of the universe. Now go throw an apple at Newton's head and give him a concussion.
Yes, you have all been misled; gods don't exist and the Bible is ancient misogynistic propaganda.
What? Was that not what you meant?

Technically, none of those people ever ventured out past the Earth-Moon system. While their voyages do prove that it's possible to orbit the Earth, or (in Aldrin's case) to leave Earth's gravity entirely, they don't prove that the sun and planets orbit the Earth.
Now, the space probes we've actually sent to places like Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the outer planets, on the other hand....
Could it possibly be that we all have been misled?
Yes, yes, you have. All fundies have been misled. It's criminal.

Here it comes...Wait for it...Drum roll Maestro...CITATION PLEASE?
More and more data is coming out
And once again, the ingressive argument, the argument of fools.
I thought we had a policy of not posting things from Yahoo Answers? Seeing as the site is so full of Poes, trolls, generally unreliable quotes, and all-too-temporary posts that have a habit of disappearing within a few days.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
