Q u o t e:
Jesus was a liberal
Jesus's answer to the adulterous woman was: go and sin no more.
He called people to personal responsibility at part of his overall ministry.
He didn't tolerate sin. So no, he wasn't a liberal.

"So no, he wasn't a liberal. "
Nope, he's a myth for idiots.
It was someone else who gave the sermon on the mount, told the parable of the sheep and the goats, and commanded his followers to give to anyone who asked, with no thought of return.
John 8:7 - 11
7And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." 8And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. 9But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
And when we take that quote in its full context, he did not condemn her, nor did he punish her. He simply told her not to do it anymore, and sent her on her way.
So, as do most of your Christian brethren, you FAIL MISERABLY at your religion.
Also, you are an excellent example of a Christian who cherry-picks the bible to suit his argument.
I think in that sense of the time Jesus was a liberal. Now a days he would probably be a bit more conservative.
Fuck I hate using these words to describe people who lived in completly different poltical systems!
...notwithstanding the fact that the buy-bull is a work of fiction, Jesus eschewed the fundies of his time and spent a great deal of time with "sinners," which in most any age would be seen as not just liberal, but radical.
You idiots ask what would Jesus do? Well, he'd be pissed at fundies like you, that's for sure...
"He didn't tolerate sin. So no, he wasn't a liberal."
This is the truly repulsive part about Adun's post: He clearly defines "liberal" as "one who tolerates sin."
Check a dictionary, dude -- that's NOT what the word means!

@anonymous_troy (#701242): Of course he did. He turned the other cheek.
Didn't you see the Robot Chicken sketch about this???
Ahh, Jesus and the Argonauts ! BAM! "Do you know who my father is?" BAM!
That argument does not work. Liberals do not inherently have sin, although they might sin like every Tom Dick and Harry that is alive (and who can go to heaven without banging the Bible thank you very much) does. Sin's power is
much exaggerated by everyone. Remember that heart-felt apology for that window you broke playing catch? You're okay, another step to going to Heaven. You know all those little things you say to people in traffic, or while viewing porn- heck, any little bad thing you've done while you still have been a good person? Doesn't matter, you're okay, take a chill pill.
Conservatives are all about personal responsibility, up until they lose an election, at which point it's obviously the fault of fraudulent votes by Obama's secret cabal of freeloading ethnic minorities, instead of being the personal responsibility of their candidate for running a terrible campaign.
Confused?
