I'm a liberal Democrat who voted for Sanders in the 2016 primary and have always voted Democratic for every office. I've never missed an election in my life.

Narcissistic traits are very common in the Social Justice Warrior community. Even though many aren't narcs, just being an SJW requires a lack of introspection and an inability to see things from other people's perspective, given how unpersuasive they are. Using "tone policing" as a bad thing is an example of this.

Or maybe they do know what others think and just don't care, so they value being (self-)right(eous) over winning elections, which is also narc-y.
