I'll put it this way. If my wife and I died, I would much rather have my daughter stay in an orphanage than have her adopted by a gay couple.

Read up on some statistics. Gay adoption is real. We're not talking a hypothetical situation anymore, we're discussing observable reality. The question isn't 'would gays be good parents' anymore, it's 'are gays good parents'.
And finding an answer to the question is remarkably easy, in the age of the Internet. There are even studies that show lesbians are better parents than traditional couples. Expand your horizons.

Then you and your wife would become spirits doomed to wander the earth, and by observing your child's life unfold, you would realize in horror that you hadn't been thinking in the best interests of your child after all. Then after throwing a bunch of books around in frustration, that ghost-whispering lady would help you deal with your issues and you could depart this plane. Go to the light! Go to the light!
Make your child suffer from a love without love or family relationships, simply because your are a bigoted asshole?
She would be better off without you, regardless.
That's a terrible thing to say. You obviously know of no person who's been in orphanages and such. My ex was in and out of them, and she tells all kinds of horror stories. I'm sure she would have rather have been with a loving gay couple, than the shit she had to go through in group homes.
You'd rather your daughter be a miserable, anti-social child, than a happy, well adjusted child?
I bet you're the kind of anti-choice person who, if there was a gay gene, would permit abortions in case of gay.
