Essentially no-one knows the numbers - because no-one was keeping track. Would you report a death from an *illegal* operation you were performing (hint: another word for that is murder)? Or would you just dump the body?

I agree partly with this fundie. Saying that something must be legal because it doesn't really matter if it's legal or not, because people would do it anyway, is a stupid argument. Of course comparing pedophilia and abortion is really stupid, especially when it is done in such a ridiculous way.
Some of the world\'s highest abortion rates are found in countries which restrict or ban abortions altogether. Do some research. As with most everything else, prohibition doesn\'t work.

Funny, I had no trouble in finding the figure to be 39 women in ONE year before it was legalized, and that's in the USA. It was more like 68,000 women world-wide. But you aren't considering the alternative. Eight times as many women die from childbirth as die from an abortion. And without an abortion, that dangerous process is the only way out of a pregnancy.
