We (women) are to be silent in church.. We are not to be leaders or pastors or teaching men in the church enviorment.. Our head covering is our husband.. Women are not to upsurp the authority that God has placed upon man. Now if a Pastor calls upon us to read a scripture we are not upsurping his authority we are being submissive to it. To disagree to do this would be upsurping his authority as our shepherd. I will have to study the head coverings more.. I don't really have an answer right now on that one for sure.. Men have not called woman to lead in the church gatherings.. This is a mans authority. I hope this helps. If this really does bother you then I suggest you go to the shepherd of the flock and discuss this with him.

What keeps women in religion? I mean, honestly, I really would like to know.
Ever heard of Stockholm's Syndrome?
I can't imagine how much and how often this crap has to be beaten (guessing literally too) into girls so they'll turn out like that one.
Submissive in a kinky way (because its a turn-on for her) is fine by me; whatever rocks her boat!
But can you even consider someone who's been raised as a slave to be consenting or willing in anything, whether in church, relationships or the bedroom?
No spine is no good!
This is the answer I received to my post there

Women are people too, and we deserve the right to be treated as such.

I am sorry but God does not change with the times.. He is the same today Yesterday and forever. The Church does not keep women down. I am a woman and I am far from down. We are equal in Christ. It is the roles that we are not..

You could do that. Or you could realize how backwards this attitude really is, scrape up a little self esteem, and tell these controlling jerks to cram it. I don't imagine that will really happen. Whoever this person is talking to will probably take their advice, and get stuck even further in this mess. And that's just plain sad.

So, you're not equal, then?
So if I told this lady to shut up with her misogynist shit, grow a spine, and stop treating herself like dogmeat, do you think she would?

Or, you know, just chuck the mysoginistic stupidity of Paul and focus on stuff that actually matters.
Besides, Paul was teh ghey, ya know lol!!!111
That's really sad. I wonder if she knows that women, you know, have the vote, equal rights, legislation that protects them from abusive spouses. As much as I would love to knock some sense into her, she probably thinks she deserves it. Tragic.
We´re not to be silent in church. To begin with, God gave the man no authority whatsoever. It was an idea of two flesh and bone men, Timothy and Paul, nothing more, nothing less. If the man were the leading sex, why is that that he´s UNABLE to proof his kinship?. Think with logic, not guided by an book written more than 2500 years ago.

I'm mostly there for the communion wine.
"Our head covering is our husband.."
OK, but sometimes when you two are in the mood for oral sex, you should sit on his face instead. Or, you could do 69. You know, just to bring some variety to your sex lives.
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure that God (the one quoted in the Bible, anyway) never said that women couldn't speak in church or had to be silent doormats. And I really don't see why God would mind if scripture was taught by a woman.
For those who wonder where she gets off instructing anyone: It's okay for her to order other women around. The slaves may treat each other any way they like, as long as they're silent and submissive in the presence of their masters.
Of course, men read these forums, so she fails right there.
Confused?
