Faith MUST come before knowledge. Character must come before knowledge. To educate a man beyond his character is to produce an educated fool. To educate a man who lacks faith in God is to produce an educated heathen. The public school system produces educated heathen fools. Young children who should be taught about God are instead brainwashed with evolution and worldly philosophies. Oh! but you say, "Parents are supposed to teach their children about faith and character." That's like saying that you should push and pull at the same time. The arguments presented by the advocates of public education are as senseless and lame as is their educational system. No child, I don't care how good a home they come from, is going to develop properly in a heathen learning environment! You can't teach a child at home that God created all people, and then expect that child to go learn from some heathen teacher that we all evolved from a lower life-form of life, without there being confusion and spiritual conflict. It is difficult on a child's mind to live in a Christian home, and then have to attend a godless learning prison like the public school system.

I suppose, Mr. Stew, that the computer you are using was conceived and created by people who were home-schooled. And that the intertubes you post in were developed by these same people using the bible as a blueprint.
You need to wake up, sir. It's the 21st Century.

Since it is possible to push and pull at the same time, don't try to shove off the responsibility of raising a child onto a school.

god forbid the child question what they are taught. It's their right to choose what they think, you can't force them.
"Faith MUST come before knowledge."
Fundiesm in a nutshell.
"Character must come before knowledge."
A person doesn't fully develop their character until they are an adult. So you don't want to start educating people until they are in their 20's?
"To educate a man beyond his character is to produce an educated fool."
Dude, you should be one of the last people to be calling others fools.
"You can't teach a child at home that God created all people, then expect that child to learn from some heathen teacher that we all evolved from a lower life-form of life....."
1 Odds are the teacher is also a Christian
2 How does evolution prove God does not exist?
David is one of those fundies who believe that their and their church's ability to instill their faith in their own children is so weak that they require the school system to teach religion to their kids. It is a shame that these people feel that my kids must pay for their inadequacies by losing precious learning time. Perhaps he should try a more Moderate form of Christianity, their kids seem to have fewer problems keeping their faith when exposed to outside influences.
It would also be difficult on a child's mind to live in a Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, etc. home, and then have to attend a Christian learning prison like the public school system Dave would like to see.

The answer is easy: do away with the christian indoctrination. Problem solved!
Godless? No freakin' way. I cannot tell you how many times I was preached to by people. Where the FUCK do you live, David? If you live in the Midwest or South, then you're probably lying when you call them Godless.
Learning? HELL NO. Well, if you count learning as being taught 'be a good worker, obey, obey' then yes.
Prison? Yes.
One out of three. You fail, Mr. Stewart
WHAT IS YOU PEOPLES' PROBLEM WITH EVOLUTION IN SCHOOLS?!
It's taught for a total of like 2 days!
And if I want to learn your mythology, I'll do it of my own accord, thank you! What you people are totally oblivious about is the fact that there are people who believe thins that are different from you. School is not a place to teach religion of any sort. It's to educate people REGARDLESS of what they believe in. That's why so little stress is put on evolution & teachers aren't allowed to talk about their religious beliefs!
God, enough with the opression mentality!
You see, the problem you have here is confusing teaching children and letting them make up their own minds, and brainwashing them. But then Brainwashing is all that you fundies know, so I guess it's not your fault.
If movies like Jesus Camp have shown us anything, it's that indoctrination at an early age is essential for their belief system to become nearly impossible to change.
That's why fundies insist on getting them young.
I'd be curious to see the born-again conversion rate on people that were raised as atheists until their adult years.
I'm willing to bet it's zero.
I went to catholic schools until Grade 8 and those were truly prisons that put faith ahead of knowledge. Most of what I learned during those years came out of the Encyclopedia Britannica, which we had at home. I used to fall asleep with one volume or another in my bed.
Faith before knowledge? It's fails children...miserably.
"It is difficult on a child's mind to live in a Christian home, and then have to attend a godless learning prison like the public school system."
OOOOOO I thought of a solution... bet you can't guess what it is!!
Confused?
