Scientists don't have a clue how the universe was created (formed). They are like children in a sandbox marveling over the color of sand and how it reacts to water. Those who trust in science, trust in incomplete and false knowledge. Only through Faith can we see and understand how the universe was created. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, Jesus (the) Christ.
Through the Word of God the universe was created, and by the Word of God it remains. By the Word of God it will be changed, and only those who know Jesus (the) Christ will be transformed to live in the New Heavens and New Earth.
Follow Jesus, find Salvation.

I'll stick with science, thanks.
While you're bringing up myths, though, I think I'll go with the Norse. Since there's as much evidence for both, Thor is the god to go with. At least he goes down fighting to make a new world, not getting nailed to a tree.
@ Indicible: exactly, he did it himself, to gain knowledge of the runes. Like Thor, hegoes down fighting for a better world.
@ Wyzard
Actually, Odin nailed himself to a tree (with his own spear). But he got eaten by Fenrir during Ragnarök.
As for the OP, the fact I do not know something does not mean another random person actually knows it. As said, I will stick with science.
The universe was created by the Bronze Age tribal god Amun, I mean Cronus, no I mean Krishna, or Odin, or Tezcatlipoca, no wait it was Yaweh, yeah that's the one. You know it was because that's the fairy tale you grew up with.

Yes our knowledge is incomplete. We know that, but that lack of completeness is countered by the scientific method. Since we can't know everything, we take what we do know and have evidence for to make predictions. If new knowledge or evidence comes to us we revise our theories. Unlike a theist who claims ultimate knowledge and refuses to change their view when new contradicting evidence comes up
I believe that during the first eons of the universe, after The Unicron War, Primus cast his brother Unicron's dead body out into the stars. Unicron's corpse landed* in what would be our solar system. Then slowly, after billions of years, the Earth formed over him.**
*For lack of a better term.
** Watch Transformers: Prime for further details.
"Scientists don't have a clue how the universe was created"
Your 'Omniscient ' God can't calculate Pi beyond 3. Prof. Stephen Hawking can prove the existence of at least eleven dimensions.
Scientists have an infinitely better idea of how the universe was formed than your 'God' (a fairytale that failed so bad the first time, it had to be re written: and in the same book of fairytales, no less! ).
So, unless you can show us in your 'True' word of God how he 'created' this universe via exact precise information: with equations, formulae & diagrams, then a fairytale it shall always be.
...meanwhile, to paraphrase Bob Dylan, 'The gaps they keep on a-filliing...!'

Actually, that would be you guys.
You get an answer through faith. Of course, it's not the RIGHT answer, but still, it's enough to keep you amused for a while.
FoJC, you are not the designated adult. Being patronizing does nothing but make me think less of you.
As for marveling at sand, consider this for a second, we know an awful lot about sand. There are all kinds of sand, silica, calcium carbonate, aragonite, coral and shellfish remains, glass, volcanic, and plastic nuggets (thanks humanity, this will really help the environment). Not to mention all the shapes it can come in.
So my question is, while we're marveling at sand, why aren't you? The world's fucking amazing if you take the time to look at it. Where's your sense of curiosity?
Scientists don't have a clue how the universe was created
Something of an exaggeration, they do have some clues. You, on the other hand, don't have one.
An open response to fundies:
Science not having all the answers doesn't weaken Science's position, because Science doesn't claim to have all the answers.
The little * and footnote "May be subject to change due to additional evidence" included in Science strengthens it, as being able to admit that you're wrong means that over time you get more and more right.
Science continues to discover new and exciting ways to be ignorant that theologians had never contemplated before, and by expanding our ignorance we expand our understanding hand in hand.
We think the Big Bang started the universe, but don't know how the Big Bang happened? Awesome! Let's find out! Maybe we'll learn some cool stuff on the way!
Claiming that the answer to everything is "God Did It" means there's no point in asking questions. This leads to creative sterility and decay.
Even if there is a god out there who created the universe, surely the greatest way to pay tribute to his creation is to understand it. What good is a book that goes unread? A film that goes unwatched? A song unsung? A microbe unexamined? Science seeks to learn the truth, and discovers beauty wherever it looks. Be that the marvels of the cosmos or the work of god, ignoring it is equally silly.
Fundies are like the special kids in the Sandbox 101 class,
who marvel each morning on the greatness of their god,
who supplies them nightly with all the nice Tootsie Rolls he leaves for them; manna.

Science will always be greater than religion
And the Beatles will always be greater than Jesus.

Jesus (the) Christ
Huh. I thought his middle initial was H.
So it's apparently T, like Smokey T. Bear.
Though the gritty detail of science may seem uninteresting and mundane to you, the interpretations of the empirical evidence can have far-reaching implications. From studying the sedimentary facies and fossil content of the Himalayas it can be determined that the rocks formed in an oceanic environment. Many physicists are discussing the growing possibility of a multiverse, its possible formation, reconciliation with other scientific theories, and the massive implications it has, and none of it has been yielded through Biblical study. Science has brought us so much more than a book that claims bats are birds.
"Scientists don't have a clue how the universe was created (formed)."
Oh, wow, and saying "We don't know for sure" is a problem in what way? At least science keeps looking. Claiming "goddidit" isn't an answer, and it stops all further investigation, because, well, goddidit,,what else do you need to know? Goddidit for that, too.
And just because we don't know, doesn't mean you get to insert whatever fairy table most appeals to you and claim to know.
Confused?
