So, Evolution, Christians will end up looking like a separate species?

Hi there,

Just wanted you to consider the attributes the Christian species will end up having, as distinct from the rest of the human race.

I imagine we will have lots of loving kindness, and mercy, and humility and we will all agree with each other, but still be able to have meaningful conversations understanding that just because you have a different point of view doesn't mean you need to suffer.

To be fair, we should consider Evolution too. Any takers? What will Evolutionists look like as distinct from the rest of the human race?

Feel free to joke, but remember insults will be prosecuted to the full height of the law, without reticence.

- Further proof that fundamentalists believe that evolution is magic and can do the impossible.

- Let me guess, you don't believe in evolution. Please see my previous response to find out how I knew that.

Note: My post is largely for fun, and I'm not seriously suggesting that humans could genetically isolate themselves long enough for speciation to occur from one culture set to another. Humans are, and will continue to evolve; but the only likely mechanism for speciation off of our species would be total geographic isolation, something that is becoming increasingly rare.

Hang on guys, OP might have a stopped clock moment. Okay lets extrapolate the current trend of fundies marrying only other fundies (assuming of course that religions stay fairly constant, which in the real world doesn't happen), and that non fundies will marry who ever they are in love with regardless of religious differences.

Eventually we would start to see differences between communities of fundies and non fundies. The greater genetic diversity of non-fundies would probably result in the fittest of the future species.

Of course the above thought experiment is largely ridiculous and ignores the fluid nature of human culture (culture includes religion). Simply put, current religions would probably die off or be changed to the point of being unrecognizable long before speciation could occur.

I think the Christian species will have several separate sub-clades:
1. Christianus Jehovah's Witnessi: A persistent pest who insists on knocking at your door as you're sitting down to dinner, and has a strange aversion to wizard-based action figures. Otherwise reclusive.
2. Christianus Protestantium: (including C. Biblica Litteram, C. Calvinistus, and thousands of others): A half-blind, forbidding-looking animal whose characteristic cry of "John 3:16" can be heard over many miles. Much given to an activity called "preaching" which seems to involve producing meaningless sounds.
3. Christianus Catholicum: An animal chiefly subsisting on wine and wafers, their social arrangements are strictly hierarchical and their alpha male is recognisable for his opulent plumage and habit of hoarding shiny objects.
4. Christianus Orthodoxicus: Similar to C. Catholicus, but with more incense and beards.
