the fossil record doesn't exist in the 1800s some guy took fossils and organized them into fabricated layers of earth named them and marked the fossils as index fossils.
the layers as laid out in this "fossil record" do not exist in that order anywhere in the world, and when the date of a fossil or an index fossil is found in the wrong rock, they just relabel the rock or throw out that fossil.
