[It seems to me that Satan must be more powerful than God. After all, the majority of the world are non-Christian.
As such, we should worship him. After all, as he is more powerful, he is going to kick some on judgment day...]
(sighing smiley) Is this logic?
Anyway, Christ knew when He expanded His Laws to outsiders [in addition to the Jews] that the world would not care. Would not worry.
This is why the path is narrow, and few go to Heaven.
Bragging about non belief is like a frog who sat in water til it boiled, and then bragging about how he didnt notice the temp change.
2 billion Christians and 6 billion ppl. That is an average of 1 in 3 and then the averae gets more narrow.

Actually, current statistics show Christianity to be a declining religion, with Islam being on the rise. Not that this is an improvement, mind you.
(I wonder if Warrior Angel considers Catholics to be "non-Christian" like so many fundies... cause if so, that number ain't 2 billion...)
So if God loves all his "children", which the Babble claims is everyone, why would he make it so difficult to walk the path.
It appears metaphors are not your area of expertise, and math sort of escapes you, so stick to things you do know, like...like...oh, shit, nothing. Just sit there and be quiet.
Only you xtians believe in Satan and yes, he is power .. he can create. And since only a god can create, your Satan is a god. You worship and pray to jesus and he is, after all, the son of god and yet a part of god .. jesus is a god, too. Ergo, yours is a multi-god belief system. How do you reconcile this with your monotheistic stance?
Ah, but 2 billion is not an entirely accurate number. While it is true that approximately 2 billion people identify themselves as "Christians" when asked, Only about 1 in 12 of them ever actually do anything about it in their lives. In fact, Christianity has one of the least active populations of any world religion.
And isn't it amusing that the same people who claim 1/3 of the world is Christian are also the same people claiming that anyone that isn't their narrow brand of Christianity doesn't actually qualify...
Isn't it amusing that when a fundie wants to point out how many "Christians" there are in the world, they'll include Catholics, Jews, Baptists, Presbyterians, and whatever else to inflate the numbers. Yet when it comes to actually treating anything but Fundamentalist Christians AS Christian, they'll go on to say the Jews killed Jesus, Catholics worship the devil, and all sorts of anti-Christian comments. The hypocricy astounds me.
Great. God rigged the game so that most are going to fail, and the ones who think they are getting into heaven relish the rest writhing in hell.
Cousin Ted is right, the frog boiling story was pulverized into dust and sprinkled into this post for no apparent reason.
Well, he didn´t say so, but if it makes you happy........anyway, the question is, if they don´t praise Jesus, they don´t do it to the Devil. Stop being so self-centered.
Sorry, there are only 1 bil Christians. And, according to all fundies, most of those aren't "real" Christians, so they're all going to hell anyway.
Why do you people get such a rush off of being "the only people" going to heaven? What are you, sadists, just like your psychopathic Man-In-The-Sky?
Actually, the number of Christians was about 1.9 billion from what I recall from Human Geography class, but since 53% of those are Catholic, and another 10% or so are Eastern Orthodox, and a number of others are Mormons, "lukewarm, hell-bound, liberal churches," etc. the number of "True Christians" as most of the serious wingnuts define the term would be pretty small.
(Note: I am a Bible-believing Christian myself, but I tend to leave it open to interpretation in light of reality and find most of these people pretty crazy.)
Well, if according to you, Catholics are non-Christians, if some Christians are not Christian enough and so on, I will be very happy in Hell. Actually, I think that you´re more worried of the scarcity than you wanna show.
It seems to me that Satan must be more powerful than God. After all, the majority of the world are non-Christian.
As such, we should worship him. After all, as he is more powerful, he is going to kick some on judgment day...
Is this logic?
Earlier in the thread, one of your companions (JesusWalks78, in fact) said that people disbelieve in God because Satan fed on their souls and won the battle. This theme is not limited to that thread; it's quite common to hear Christian apologetics claim that evil in the world is the result of Satan tempting us or even causing it directly. David Gould, whom you quoted, merely took this argument to its logical conclusion since God (presumably) doesn't endorse the evil that Satan spreads, he must be unable to do anything about it. If Satan spreads evil and evil is contrary to God's will, Satan must have the power to act against God's will, which would make him more powerful than God.
So, to answer your question: Yes, this is a form of logic called reductio ad absurdum, or reduction to absurdity. By showing that an opponent's premises lead to an absurd, contradictory, or unacceptable conclusion, a debater can force his opponent to retract one or more of the premises he put forth.
Anyway, Christ knew when He expanded His Laws to outsiders [in addition to the Jews] that the world would not care.
OK, first of all, you need some hard evidence that Jesus existed. Second, you need some hard evidence that he started handing down laws. Third, you need some evidence that Jesus's words and laws are worth more than a pair of fetid dingo's kidneys. Fourth, you need to leave us Jews out of it. If you keep trying to drag us into your delusions, I shall lecture you about the first commandment. (If you'll recall your holy book, the first commandment instructs you not to worship other gods. If you look at your holy book again, you will see that Jesus is not a god. Now stop trying to drag us into your religion!
Would not worry.
Nope. Not worrying.
This is why the path is narrow, and few go to Heaven.
Let's summarize what you've said so far.
David Gould pointed out that if Satan is able to do whatever he wants even when God doesn't want him to, then Satan is more powerful than God. You denied some aspect of his argument, but didn't provide any rebuttal. Instead, you said (implicitly) that God only wants a few people in Heaven, and that he will only let you in if you deny the conclusion of that argument, even though you cannot provide any reason why the argument is not sound.
Or, to summarize the summary: You were presented with a perfectly sound argument with a conclusion you didn't like. Unable to rebut the argument, you declared: "Well you can't go to heaven if you believe that."
Bragging about non belief is like a frog who sat in water til it boiled, and then bragging about how he didnt notice the temp change.
Warning! Fatal analogy error. Please disembark all passengers from the analogy at this time.
2 billion Christians and 6 billion ppl.
There may be 2 billion people who call themselves "Christian" but many of them think that most of the others aren't actually Christian. Furthermore, people who call themselves "Christians" range from hardcore fundie creationist Baptists who think that they and their churchmates are the only real Christians, to Unitarians, who don't believe in the Trinity (which, let's face it, isn't in the Bible), and who are very tolerant of other people, to near-deists who believe that God has almost nothing to do with the universe or humanity (except after we die) to apatheists who consider themselves Christian but don't bother with church or rituals and are practically atheists.
That is an average of 1 in 3...
That's a ratio, not an average, you dinglewad!
...and then the averae gets more narrow.
And I'm a song from the sixties.
(You do realize that you're not making any sense anymore, right?)
Confused?
