hey....homosexual behavior was illegal until just a few years ago. I'm not the only who feels such revolting behavior should be outlawed and/or left in the closet. And if the homos were all jailed back in the 80s they wouldn't have spread AIDS all over the place with their sexually promiscuous ways and killed/infected millions of people. We'd have much less of a problem today.

It's unsafe sexual practices that spread disease, not homosexuality.

If HIV/AIDS hadn't been initially denied and swept under the carpet by "moral" politicians and religious leaders we would have much less of a problem with it today.
Sex ed., for kids AND adults, world-wide emancipation of women, free condoms and free clean needles could put quite a dent in the HIV/AIDS problem, but those same politicians and religious leaders are still standing in the way.
So, when exactly was homosexuality decriminalized? I'm thinking at least in the 70s or 80s because I would have remembered if it happened in the 90s or the 21st century. So that's 20 or 30 years -- not really "a few" years ago on my personal timescale, there.

NotMe: I think Doctor Whom is referring to the fact that lesbians have a ridiculously low infection rate for HIV, and almost all of the infections are from some source other than female-female sexual contact. (In fact, as of 2005, the CDC didn't even include female-female sexual contact in their statistics for HIV infections.)
Yes, never mind that we are human beings, and have rights too. And that incarcerating someone for a "crime" that harms ABSOLUTELY no one is somewhere between cruel and unconstitutional.
It's really easy to suspend rights as long as it's someone else's rights, isn't it?

The remaining anti-homosexual sodomy laws have been invalidated by the 2003 U.S. Supreme Court decision Lawrence v. Texas (see above). It is not clear whether or how sodomy laws that apply to both homosexual and heterosexual sex are affected by Lawrence.
