(regarding the new film "Get Smart")
boycott this filth. there is so much sexual innuendo that our young children do not need to see. the innuendo that he was looking up her skirt.
and dont even get me started on him kissing another guy at the end. that is disgusting and immoral.

"him kissing another guy at the end."
Goddamnit! Spoilers, people, do you know of them?!
OOPS.
the spoilers thing is my fault...sorry people.
It doesn't really have too much to do with the story, though, don't worry.
But yeah, it's still pretty fundie.
Why do they always assume that if a film isn't appropriate for 'young children' it's worthless? If we could only make films children could watch, there wouldn't be a rating system in the first place.
Fundies. Making the world safe for children and people with brains like them.
Okay, as much of a train wreck as I know it's going to be, I am now looking forward to next summer's G.I. Joe movie.
Because these fraidy cats are going to go absolutely batshit over Baroness's black catsuit.
Innuendo would be something more like this:
Leslie Nielsen watches, from below, a hot chick who's wearing a skirt climbing up a ladder.
LESLIE NEILSEN: "Nice beaver."
Hot chick comes back down from the ladder, carrying a taxidermically-mounted beaver.
HOT CHICK: "Thanks, I had it stuffed myself."
I don't watch remakes for a few reasons. They're never as good as the original, they usually change key elements so that the story doesn't make sense any longer and they usually feel a need to add unnecessary things just for sensationalism. It's truly sad that no one can be bothered to sit down and write an orignal script any more.
was it a "peck" or a "snog"
Nearly every Mediterranean European country has men kissing in greeting - not queer just civilised
The Roman and Anglican church has men exchanging the "kiss if peace"
It's only the uptight British and US that have problems with non-sexual kissing. Do these people kiss their fathers?!
And this is why the film is rated PG-13! If you want to bring your "think of the children" arguments up against something, try to bring against a G-rated or PG-rated flick. You know...the kind that are geared towards the young children that you feel so adamantly need protecting. Seriously, get your head screwed on correctly before you start ranting about insubstantial matters, M'kay?
"and dont even get me started on him kissing another guy at the end. that is disgusting and immoral."
For what it's worth, it's not like Smart wanted to do it; in fact he did it because he knew it would startle the
bad guy
.
And the part with the skirt was mentioned in the preview, so by the time I actually saw the movie it wasn't as funny.
As for myself, part of why I went to go see it was for Masi Oka, of which I thought there was just the right amount for the small part he had. But it could be worse. I bet if pjmcguirk85 knew what his character on Heroes could do, we'd get enraged remarks about that show, like "ONLY GOD IS GREAT ENOUGH TO HAVE SUPERPOWERS !!ELEVENTY!!" and so forth.
Hey, I kissed another man today - out on the public street. And he kissed me back. Not to have done so would have been offensive. It's the done thing here in France.
And Jesus was kissed by Judas. Judas knew he could do this because it was an accepted way of greeting a friend. So back into you dark, dank cellar of designer moral outrage.
Missed it by...
THAT much!
The movie isn't made for young children, you jackass. You are like those other jerks that couldn't read that Team America was rated R, just saw it was puppets, and took their kiddies to see it. Better not go to Italy or Greece, because men giving each other a kiss is as normal as you breathing.
Glad to see the IMDB was smart enough to lock and delete your rant.
I myself am not attracted to men, but I still cannot understand why kissing a man is, by their definition, immoral. What is so inherently wrong with kissing another person?
"kissing ... is disgusting and immoral"
That joke has been around for ages in like cartoons and stuff.
"the innuendo that he was looking up her skirt."
Innuendo is so terrible, they should have just had her dance around naked the whole time. No innuendo, just full frontal and back-al.
"Nice Beaver" was an innuendo. Looking up the skirt is blatant.
And last I looked Rotten Tomato's had it rated at 19% or something like that, so I don't think I'll be seeing it until it comes out on video.
"Ah, the old 'spy in the dog-suit' trick!" set them off about the series.
My father and I plan to go see it on Sunday, thank you very much.
pjmcguirk85 is right in that it is innuendo - Maxwell says a line that implies he was looking up 99's skirt, and little kids might not even get the joke.
Which makes pjmcguirk85 all the more uptight for objecting to it.
The original 60s TV show had sexual innuendo, too, as did several others (like "The Adams Family," for instance). It was just disguised well enough to go over the kiddies' heads
looking up someone's skirt isn't innuendo, it's sexual harassment. Also, children don't understand sexual innuendo most of the time (depending on the age). They'll usually laugh if other people do, but they're not in on the joke.
HAHA, that part was funny. Actually, the whole movie was. Lighten up, fucktard. Life is more awesome that way.
Confused?
