Homeschool?

Simple answer:

Take your kids out of the public school systems permanently!!

Find a local home schooling group... join it... teach a subject... help in the classes...

I would encourage you to keep your kids home on Tuesday, just because they believe they can dictate to you in that fashion.

Then I would write a simple note, stating that your child had an appointment and was unable to attend school that day. Doctors, dentists, whatever... religious holiday, aversion therapy (as in avoiding being exposed to all the godless **** that will be on display) You don't need to tell them that their aversion therapist is you... or explain what the aversion therapy is for...lol
and if they mark it unexcused... what r they gonna do? kidnap them? or place them in detention? I'd tell my kids... don't go... u will not report for any disciplinary action...

If you are teaching your child actual facts (you know, history, math, science...) then I will not object to it.

It's only a problem if you only remove your child from school so you can fill their head with religious dogma all day (which is probably what you're doing).

What great morals to teach your kids!
What are they going to do when their grown up and don't want to go to work one day? Just not show up?
And the schools can do something if it happens a certain amount of times, they can expel you, just like a boss can fire you.
Only diffrence is the school could hold you as the parent, legally responsible.

Well, not to wish anything bad on these poor kids brought into the world via fundy copulation, butI really wish these fanatics would home school in mass to help open up the job market to the rest of the country (since they won't be educated enough to do much more than serve fries).

I almost wish something like that could happen here in the UK, to counteract the current, unpleasant effects of the British government's recent, staggeringly idiotic plan to send everyone and his dog to university whilst simultaneously abolishing the student grant and doing absolutely nothing to actually increase the number of graduate jobs available, resulting in a flood of overqualified young people in massive debt, doomed to jobs that won't make use of the skills they've spent the best years of their lives learning and won't pay enough to justify the debt accumulated in the process.

We live in a market economy; supply adjusts to match demand, and demand adjusts to match supply, slowly. A sudden, large and arbitrary stimulus to supply without a corresponding stimulus to demand can only drive the system into an unbalanced state until it gradually adjusts itself again, and in any such violently transitional period, far from a quasi-equilibrium process, people suffer. What the fuck were they thinking? That forcing a sudden rise in the number of graduates would directly stimulate economic growth? Perhaps in the very, very long term; in the short term, it leads to devaluation of graduates and wastage of their efforts until employers expand to need more of them, and employers cannot expand in such a way unless demand for their output in turn expands, and nothing's been done to stimulate that. Indeed, an influx of ex-students who are underutilised, underappreciated and underpaid for their level of education and skill, and also in three to four years' worth of debt, are unlikely to feel inclined towards high material consumption and stimulating such demand; if anything, they'll do the opposite. Even if we weren't already in a global recession, the British economy might very well have been screwed over anyway by the effects of this ludicrous, terminally short-sighted policy.

And it doesn't help that grade inflation has encouraged them to think that they are capable of benefiting from a university education. At my university there's one clear correlation: the number of younger students requiring additional literacy and numeracy classes has increased just as the quality of the graffiti in the toilets has decreased.
