Carico is trying to say that the difference between human and monkey brains could not be due to evolution - because our brains are capable of doing abstract math and physics, and monkeys' aren't. While this is still stupid, it's actually relatively sane for Carico.

The cortex, the limbic system etc... are all involved in cognitions and behaviors both indirectly and directly through top down and bottom up processing. YOU need to take a Biology 301 class, but sadly you didn't even get Biology 101.

I've taken all the biology required for general education, and I don't think we ever studied any neurology.
In fact, I learned more about the brain in Psych 101 than in Biology.

Maybe you don't. I however, can do 3-dimensional calculus and all kinds of algebra. Building a bridge is not a big freaking deal.
I mean, I built my own loft. All I'd have to do is get some weather-resistant 2 by 6s and plywood, screw them together, and lay it across a river. It's really not that hard.

Bullshit. It depends how large and complex a structure you're talking about, but building a basic bridge shouldn't require anything more than elementary mathematics (such as measuring things) that are well within the capabilities of the great majority of people. Of course, fundies might be a different matter.

Ummm, it's called engineering, and just about anyone with the proper training could do it.
That's not a standard part of bio 1, actually. In fact, I took a whole biology degree and we didn't cover that except sort of superficially in comparative anatomy (a junior level class), I believe that's on the border of biology and psychology.
Anyway, based on the thread you aren't allowing a broad definition of bridge, you mean a humongous suspension bridge or something. I've said it before, and the posts in the thread you disagree with spell it out, our difference from other animals is a matter of degree, not kind.
I can build a bridge. Lay a log across a river, and you've got a bridge. I seem to remember a line from that Atlantis Disney movie: "Hey look, I made a bridge", after a pillar fell across a ditch.
