It always seems that Science is the right path to chose, but Darwin had a very large flaw. When he went to teh galapagos Islands, who is to say he didn't become mentally ill? I think, no, I KNOW that the bible is real, and that the evolution of species is a pathetic attempt to hide the truth that anyone who doesn't follow the path of a Christian and doesn't believes that Jesus Christ died on a Roman cross innocently for the salvation of all, is a fool.

That's the beauty of science! It doesn't matter whether he was clinically insane and ate babies, as long as he gave us data, allowed us to replicate his experiments, and came to a conclusion that others would also logically conclude from the given data, then it is good science! To say nothing of the fact that Darwin himself is not the Alpha and Omega of evolutionary theory.
Though it is interesting to point out that the potential for mental illness among the many "prophets" responsible for the Bible is a far more dangerous possibility than if Darwin were, since we have no way to verify whether or not Biblical accounts were entirely written by mad men or not, with no data or objective logic to verify their claims.
And for the love of your God, stop pretending as if evolution is an assault against your religion. It is not. If you cannot reconcile it with your faith, that is your own personal problem, not science's, not religion's. Get over it.

Nevermind the overwhelming evidence and all the other appeals to authority of all the other scientists who also accept the theory.
So...a scientist that gave insight into a process that has been shown scientifically to be repeatable had to be insane, but people wandering around, talking to snakes, donkeys and burning bushes had to be bastions of sanity, and should not be questioned. Gotcha.

Brilliant! The man lived his entire life to that point with no obvious signs of mental illness, reaches the Galapagos Islands and becomes a raving lunatic (except that nobody else noticed) and is all better by the time of his return. It's so blindingly obvious I don't know why nobody has thought of it before.

Even if Darwin was batshit insane, it doesn't change a fucking thing. Why? Because the theory of evolution does not rely on him in any way. If Darwin had denied it all on his deathbed as so many fundies like to claim, it doesn't fucking matter. It's accepted as a theory not because some guy came up with it, but because of the mountains of evidence that have been found to support it.
If Newton had renounced gravity, that wouldn't make gravity disappear. If Copernicus had said, "I guess the earth really is the center of the universe," that wouldn't make it so.
Science does not, and can not, depend on one single person.

Ben, dear, evolution is not "The Teachings of Darwin". Everything needs to be scrutinized, peer-reviewed and proven before it is considered science. Darwin just started the work, he wasn't even the first to think along those lines. Darwin is NOT the high priest of evolutionism. If you need a religious comparison, he's like one of the evangelists.

It doesn't matter if Darwin became mentally ill. The ToE has grown and evolved so much since his day that he would probably not recognize it.
IF the ToE is an attempt to hide anything, it certainly not pathetic. The number of people involved in the supposed conspiracy is staggering; a couple of billion people accept the ToE.
