[Regarding his conviction for tax fraud]
Many lawyers and paralegal have looked over our case and said that it will be overturned. They tell me that all I need is patience. Well, I do want patience — I just want it right now! The Lord and I are discussing this often.

So the Lawd is handling his appeal? Hate to rub more salt in Hovind's wounds (who am I kidding, I actually love it!) , but I must warn him that he'll lose when he and his legal advisor don't show up for their scheduled court appearance. After all, Jay-zuss is notorious for failing to keep appointments and for breaking promises.
Lord, help me out of the consequences of my sin, as I always condemn others for evading the consequences of their sins.
Oh, wait, that isn't in the Lord's Prayer...

It sounds like the creationist claim that many scientists are being silent about the 'falsehood' of evolution.
If we're lucky, Kent will come out of jail 10 years from now as an atheist. Prison tends to do that to people, once they see just what a living hell it is.

If Hovind is a Christian, he can get the Lord's opinion right from the Bible. Even Jesus paid his taxes (see the story of the fish with the shekel in its mouth) and advised the Pharisees to pay their taxes, too (see the "render unto Caesar" story).
The Lord and I are discussing this often. I'm glad He knows to prioritize.
I'll bet Hovind's been spending a lot of time on his knees, pleading with 'The Lord'.
Here's a picture of his cellmate, Vern Schillinger...

"That's right you little bitch, you call me 'Lord'."

Yes, well, that makes perfect sense, doesn't it? It's a bit like saying, "Yes, well, I'd love to see the world, but I don't want to travel," isn't it?

I prefer the eye for an eye philosophy. One might say on the death sentence that it is inhumane. I say 'locking them away for the rest of their lives only to go insane with boredom isn't?' The old 'prison is a deterrent' excuse is flimsy, obviously if that were true there wouldn't be so much crime, yet there is. Make thief's give back what they stole, make tax evaders simply pay their taxes, it might not be the best repellent but justice is still done. Humanly.
Confused?
