One might say more correctly, women in the OT are treated as objects, pure property first of their fathers and then of their husbands. One of the reasons why it is good to live in a secular society where church does´t have any say in politics.

So I did a bit of research on this guy's other username ("mikeeusa"...it's mentioned in post #2 of the quoted thread), and oh, my gosh. This is one of the few people that I actually WANT to DIAF. @Hannah: Unfortunately, that is what a lot of MRAs want, in varying degrees. They're the same as the people who think the Christian Right is oppressed - full of shit. Anyone has done even a little research knows white dudes are still the most privileged people in society, so I cannot sympathise with the greedy, whiny fucks. I really can't. Some girls can have children as young as 11 years of age or even younger, some can't until much older. How would you decide on whether or not a girl is able to concieve? Not to mention the fact that just because a girl is physically able to give birth it doesn't mean she is mentally or emotionally mature enough to go through such an experince or raise her own kids, especially if she was brought up by fundies. And I cannot be the only one who would really, really fucking hate to be married to an 11 year old.

How can one know that the females are able to have children before they have tried? Only females who have a kid are allowed to marry?
How is it good for men to control females? What about the females, is it good for them to be controlled? Or is it good for them to control males, perhaps?
