[Science] is propaganda. Period.

I can sort of understand why somebody would think that. Historically, a lot of "science" has been later understood to be misinformed, and to have been influenced by political ideas. Economics utterly reeks of this, but even physics has been influenced by things that aren't evidence ("God does not play dice with the universe"). Obviously, plenty of these errors have been found, but how many errors are still in there?
Basically, the-little-seagull thinks everything humans do is propaganda. There is no such thing as rationality; everything is rhetoric. At my most pessimistic, I agree with them. It's also unfalsifiable, by the way.
By the way, where I used the phrase "no such thing as rationality," the accepted way to phrase it in that circle is closer to "logic is not a tool for informing choices, but is rather a tool for justifying choices that have already been made."
What planet do you come from?
Science started when the first caveman (OK, "Adam and Eve" if you prefer) tasted some strange vegetable and didn't die. "This is good to eat" was the second law of science, right after "If you let go of the branch, you'll fall out of the tree".
Well, you'd better stop using that most powerful of propaganda engines then: that computer of yours. [/Quantum Mechanic]
It did come about as a result of the developments - the Digital Computer - of Alan Turing: a gay Atheist , did it not...?!
Just another of the actual fake news victims
There's no doubt in my mind that the distrust of established mainstream media was fostered in the churches, decades of predicting doom and disaster which never came sent them into the alternate "news" that said it was, Opinion became predominant because it resembled preaching where fearmongering and hatemongering are the main features.
Doing recon, Seagull is specifically objecting to mandatory vaccinations. They DO claim that their real desire is for "better" vaccines, ones that don't carry risk of causing damage while interdicting the disease. Damage like autism. I cannot say I'm impressed with them. They actually said they'd rather get polio than have autism...
Confused?
