[After divorce, a judge granted a woman the right to move cross-country to take the kids to live with her lesbian partner.]
I certainly hope this is appealed all the way and these children should be removed from this supposed mother! It is sickening this paid off judge would put these children in such peril - who knows what the lesbian partner or supposed mother really wants. The father should go all the way to the Supreme Court or take his children away to a safe place rather than allow this atrocity to happen to his children.

So... there's a father on the other side of the country who now essentially never gets to see his kids again?
That does kind of suck, to be honest, although I have no problem with the people with whom they're being raised.
I love how they always assume the judge was paid off. Couldn't be anything like having the childs best interests at heart, could it.
Funny how the only thing I can find regarding her side of the story is that it was a "contentious divorce".

That's called "Custodial Interference" and it's illegal.
Citation seriously fucking needed as evidence for the allegations that the partner is a pedophile or a child abuser in any way.
The average pedophile in jail is a male heterosexual. Pedophila is not gender specific, the alurement is that the victim is young, vulnerable and helpless.
The most disturbing factor in this case to me, is that the mother is planning to move the children a long way away from the father. If he's a violent drunk, an abuser or something like that, I can understand it might be necessary. Otherwise I think the children have the right to see both their mother and their father regulary.
The article doesn't tell all the circumstances surrounding the decision. Was the father abusive, or alcoholic? Did the mother have a better job waiting for her at the new home and could better support the children? Families break up and move across the country from each other all the time. If she was moving out there to live with another man, we probably wouldn't hear boo about this.
As for snatching the kids away, is that really better for them? They'd be on the run, or in hiding all the time, couldn't go to school (oh yeah, I forgot, fundies are against that anyway) and would lose all sense of who they are.
And how does who you choose to share your bed with determine what kind of a parent you are anyway? I have yet to see a child abuse case on the news where the parents were gay.
Not knowing the whole story I have to say that it doesn't seem fair to the dad that his kids will be so far away.
Other than that, I have no problem with the Judge's decision. And maybe you shouldn't slander the judge's good name by suggesting that he is taking bribes, until you have proof. Which I'm sure you don't.

Actually, a case like this could go to the Supreme Court, but it's very unlikely. The father would have to assert some Constitutional right that's being violated, and the Supreme Court would have to grant cert. The Court hears very few cases, and just about everyone applies for cert, so the chance of any one case going to the Court is very small.
who knows what the lesbian partner or supposed mother really wants.
You apparently think you do. Otherwise, why raise the issue? And do you have any evidence that the judge was paid off? If so, you should give it to the local district attorney. If not, you're committing libel.
What atrocity? What exactly do you think is going to happen? Wild lesbian sex orgies with the kids involved? When are you stupid fundie fuckers going to realize that homosexuals can parent as well as heterosexuals?
If the woman had taken the kids in the divorce and moved cross-country to be with her male lover you probably wouldn't have had a problem with that.
My only problem is access to the kids by the father has been made more difficult because of the distance involved. Unless he is an abuser, he shouldn't have to suffer by not seeing his kids.
Take notes here, folks:
Judge rules against a homosexual - The godly and righteous justice system prevails against, ignoring the crocodile tears of the evil homosexual. If the godless homosexual decides to disobey the courts, they should be subject to the full wrath of the law, and maybe made to "accidentally" fall down the stairs a time or eight.
Judge rules for the homosexual - The evil, corrupt justice system continues to oppress the poor Christians, in favor of the godless homos. The law suddenly becomes fuzzy, gray and malleable enough that the judge's orders can, nay SHOULD be flouted, and suddenly kidnapping is more...reappropriating property.
Lesson learned: The justice system is only good as long as it goes their way, otherwise, they will QQ to anyone who listens long enough. Further, it's only illegal if a non-Christian does it.
I don't know what the situation was with the dad (if he was an abusive asshole disregard my next comments). I don't believe that a parent should be able to separate their kids from the other parent. Perhaps her partner could come to live nearer rather than she and the kids moving away.
As for anonymous. What atrocity?

"Supposed mother"?
She bore the cildren, did she not?
She changed their diapers, did she not?
She fed them as infants, did she not?
She gave them her love and caring, and kissed their boo-boos, and let them know that they were loved, did she not?
You can take issue with the Court decision that gives her custody - their father has rights as well, and sometimes, the father is the better parent. But how *dare* you refer to her as a "supposed" mother, simply because she's not conforming to your Bronze Age ideas of what she should do?
I've seen a few bigoted idiots like you, so I'll make this short and sweet: DIAF.
Let me get this straight. AC is advocating kidnapping, a serious felony, in order to deny a woman her children, solely because she isn't attracted to men.
Why not go all the way, AC, and say the woman should be murdered for not being straight? After all, you clearly have no problem saying someone's life should be ruined for it. Better yet, why not give your name and address so everyone knows exactly who you are? You certainly seem proud of your bigotry, demonstrate it. I'm sure many many people would be happy to come around and tell you what they think of you.
The children involved are, statistically, under significantly less threat of being abused by their mother and her partner than they would be if they were with their heterosexual male father.
What, straight people want to start making claims about the possibility of abuse? Sorry, that really doesn't go well for the straights.
Confused?
