Let's see now, we who are sooo smart and use our brains - what has it led this country to. Our society has grown more uncivilized since we got rid of prayer and the study of the Bible in schools.
Sex, violence, filthy language in movies, TV, and internet porn bombard us 24/7. An 8th grader in the 1800's was better educated than college grads today.

Sadly we now see the results of an ungodly society and Coolidge was right.

Direct result of minus god, i doubt it, remember back when a kiss was racey and perverted in movies? No, of course not, you're only 12, but yes, with eacgh generation people try to push things a bit more because we're more accepting than "Burn the witch!"

Hm, not only are kids today better educated than their counterparts from 1800, they also get a better moral education in things that count ;)
For kids in the USA in 1800 slavery was a rather normal thing, often they would also learn (be it in school or from their parents) that it was supported by the bible. It was also rather normal in 1800, that women were subordinate to men and didn´t have certain rights men possessed (like, for example, the right to vote) and that their duty was, to manage the household, not to have a job of their own.

Not to forget something closely connected to slavery, i.e. racism, which was even in the 50s of the last century still present within parts of the united states.

Sound like the teachings of the bible didn´t help much to improve society concerning these things and only secular education helped to improve the situation
(if I see it correctly the most fundamentalist religious states within the USA were even the last ones to adapt the view that black people are equal to white people ;) )
