There is a HUGE orphanage about 10 miles from where I live -- it's no Boys' Town, but it's still pretty big.
There are. Do you know what happens?, that you respectable ol´ good boys only adopt kids who are newborn, healthy and white. We read newspapers, and there are stories they will never tell you. What are they going to say?, orphanages in USA INC?

No one calls them orphanages anymore, but there are still institutions to house guardianless children.

Anti-abortion zealots can have some fucked up ideas about adoption. I've seen them deny that orphanages exist, deny that there's anything wrong with being in foster care, and deny that there are large numbers of children who languish in foster care and never get adopted. If they acknowledge the last fact, they claim the only reason some kids never get adopted is because of 'government bureaucracy'. Guess the whole 'pro-children' thing is just a shuck, eh?
